MTV just released this brand new VMA promo video featuring Ne-Yo. As you may have seen, this year has a West Side Story theme, and they have enlisted several top artists to join in on the fun.

Don't Expect Rihanna To Write Songs About Chris Brown Says Ne-Yo
"I’ve done some stuff for Rihanna’s (project). I didn’t really want to go there too much, because I know that’s what everybody is expecting. I don’t think there isn’t a person alive that doesn’t know what happened and what it was.
I don’t feel like it needs to be glorified. I don’t think that needs to be a song that’s sung or written.
"Chris Brown is a friend of mine, and I don’t view him as a bad guy for what happened. It was an absolute mistake, and he has some lessons to learn and some maturing to do. But I’m not gonna bash him for that. I’m not gonna turn my back on a person I call my friend because he made a mistake. (So) I can’t write the Chris Brown bash song and then turn around and look myself in the mirror."

Winners From The 2009 BET Awards Plus Michael Jackson Tribute
Tributes to Michael Jackson dominated the BET Awards last night.
Joe Jackson - the father of the 50-year-old pop legend, was one of the first to pay homage to his son, speaking about him on the red carpet at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium.
"I wish the world had recognized him when he was living. Right now, he's bigger than ever. But I wish he was here to see all this, to hear all this."
Janet Jackson also made an appearance, and thanked Michael's fans for all their support in the wake of his passing.
"My entire family wanted to be here tonight, but it was just too painful so they elected me to speak with all of you.
"I would just like to say that to you, Michael is an icon. To us, Michael is family, and he will forever live in all of our hearts.
"On behalf of my family and myself, thank you for all your love - thank you for all your support. We miss him so much."
Jamie Fox hosted the show, and entered wearing a red leather jacket in a nod to Michael's costume in the music promo for 'Beat It'.
After the event opened to a medley of Jackson 5 songs - including 'ABC' and 'The Love You Save' - Jamie walked onto the stage to 'Beat It'.
He said:
"No need to be sad. We want to celebrate this black man. We are going to go through all of Michael Jackson."
The singer-and-actor also performed Michael's signature dance move the moonwalk and performed the Jackson 5 hit 'I'll Be There' alongside Stevie Wonder and Ne-Yo as images of the late King of Pop flashed up on a big screen.

Ne-Yo Knows How To Treat A Lady
So Ne-Yo just posted a blog about how to treat women...I have to say, he is SPOT on! I'm impressed. But, I should have guessed that he'd be a ladies man judging from the kind of music he sings. :)
Women like to talk and when they do, they like to know that you are
listening. For example, say your girlfriend wears a certain kind of
perfume. She always wears this perfume — nothing else. One day you
surprise her with that bottle of perfume when she runs out without
asking her what kind it is or where to get it, you are the man! Talking
to her friends like, “Oh, he came and he had the perfume and oh!” That
shows her that she is not only there to have sex with every now and
then. That will make you the man for at least three weeks. Trust me.
HAHA, this quote is awesome. Sounds like Ne-Yo has some experience at the Build-A-Bear.
Women like men who, every now and then, go out of their way and do
something for them that they are not expecting — something that
requires some effort or some doing. Anybody can order some flowers.
That takes no effort — you order some flowers and they just show up and
you take the credit. However, it takes some doing to go to that
Build-A-Bear place and do the voice activation thing and making that
bear tell a little inside joke that only you and her know about it.

What kind of sound is going to come out of THIS collaboration? Ne-Yo and Marilyn Manson have made plans to work together. Yes, you read that correctly. I'm intrigued...
"I’m sitting down next with Marilyn Manson so we can write songs for his new album. I don’t have preconceived notions about what he is musically, the clothes he wears, none of it."
Ne-Yo is HUGELY unappreciated in the industry. He is responsible for hit after hit after hit. And while he doesn't sing them all, odds are that R&B song you are singing while driving to work was done by him. I LOVE him! But this combo is just confusing. I have to hear it to believe it. ;)
Z100's Jingle Ball Concert
Rihanna, Chris Brown, Jesse McCartney, Lady Gaga, Brandy, Brody Jenner, Ashley Tisdale, Kanye West, Ne-Yo and Katy Perry were just a few of the headliners for Z100's Jingle Ball held last night at Madison Square Garden. What an evening!! Did anyone go? I went to one a few years ago and had a great time. It's an easy way to see a ton of people in concert without having to spend thousands of dollars for tickets.
Celebrities Attend The Hennessy Artistry Finale
New York's Gotham Hall hosted this year's Hennessy Aristry Finale last night and several celebs came out to show their support. Aubrey O'Day, Richie Rich, Leona Lewis, Lindsay Price, Ne-Yo, and Rosie Perez all were in attendance.
Did you know that Richie Rich is coming out with a compilation cd? I got invited to the release party and I am going because he was SO NICE during Fashion Week. I want to be sure to cover anything he does.
