Nicole Kidman Was Told NOT To Marry Tom Cruise
Nicole Kidman was told marrying Tom Cruise would “ruin” her career. The Hollywood actress – who was married to Tom for 10 years from 1990 after meeting on the set on ‘Days of Thunder’ – believes her acting success was boosted by her romance with the actor, despite her advisors insisting she was making the wrong decision in tying the knot.
“I became famous very young. I became very famous because I was the wife of somebody. I did a lot of good, worthwhile work in Australia between the ages of 14 and 19 and then I married someone famous. And really, despite the huge profile that brought to me, I was still finding my feet.
“My agents at the time were like, ‘Do not get married! It will ruin your career!’ And I was like, ‘But I’m in love!’ “
Despite Nicole’s new-found fame when she was just 23, she insists she only married Tom because they were hopelessly in love. She told Britain’s GQ magazine:
“All I know is that I want someone interested in fame. And that’s not why I got married. I wanted to work with people who intrigued me.”
Following their divorce, Nicole went on to marry singer Keith Urban, with who she has a 15-month-old daughter, Sunday Rose, while Tom – who has two adopted children with Nicole – has three-year-old Suri with wife Katie Holmes.

Nicole Kidman Is Terrified To Sing
Nicole Kidman, who has previously sang in the movie Moulin Rouge! and had duets with both Ewan McGregor and singer Robbie Williams, says she's hates doing it. Nicole says she's terrified of performing in front of people and had to be convinced to sing in the new musical movie "Nine".
"I was terrified of it. I am not a natural singer in the sense that I don't love getting up in front of a group of people and just belting out a tune. It needs to be coaxed out of me because I want my voice to tell a story and sometimes it doesn't have the capacity to do that."
She felt some pressure when director Rob Marshall told her that he envisioned her role to be "goddess-like". I can only imagine how stressful it was to try to live up to that description. Yikes.
She told Empire magazine:
"When Rob approached me, he told me a role had been written especially. He told me he wanted her to look like a goddess and I was a little overwhelmed by that."
Despite her ability to sing, she has previously said that she would never sing a duet with her husband, Keith Urban.
"We have our work, but most important is our life together, we don't want to blend the two."
Nine is set for release on December 25th. If you aren't familiar with it, here is the brief synopsis:

Nicole Kidman Says Hollywood Is To Blame For Violence Against Women
Wow! What a thing to say about the industry that puts bread on your table. But is Nicole Kidman right?
The actress is a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. Development Fund for Women and while addressing a committee about the topic, Nicole said the industry portrays females as "weak sex objects". She has finally come to a point in her career where she will no longer take part in these roles. PopEater reports:
"I can't be responsible for all of Hollywood but I can certainly be responsible for my own career," Kidman said.
If more woman took that stance, imagine how different the films we see would be?

The Ladies Of 'Nine' Dish To Vogue
Have you heard about the musical 'Nine'? It has quite the cast, including: Daniel Day Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, Marion Cotillard, and Penelope Cruz. They talked to Vogue for the November issue (although the movie's release date was recently moved to Christmas Day).
Daniel's character, Guido, is the main character of 'Nine,' which is about a director who is searching for the perfect lead in his movie while trying to control the women in his life. The actresses were the ones interviewed by Vogue. Here are some snippets from the interview:
Nicole talked about acting:
"I had no desire to work after I had my daughter, but to lure me back, this movie was the only way."
Marion on doing musicals:
"It's been my dream to do an American musical. When I was a child, Annie was my favorite. I just never thought I would get to do it."
Penelope on balancing work and everything else in her life:
"I've been working since the age of seventeen, and I really haven't stopped. I want to balance it a little more. Instead of making three or four movies a year, I will do one."
And Kate on singing and dancing:
"I spent most of my childhood singing and dancing and just never had the chance to do it professionally. So when I got the chance to work with Rob [Marshall, the director], I was so excited, I was out of my mind."

Nicole Kidman Attends Press Event At The Omega Flagship Boutique
Nicole Kidman arrived at the Omega Flagship Boutique on 5th Avenue looking simply amazing last night. Dressed in all black, the actress posed with CEO Stephen Urquhart during a press event supporting the brand.
It's rare that we see Nicole attend events like this, but she does print work for the company and I am sure it's part of her contractual duties.
What do you think of Nicole's pulled back hair and high pony tail? How about the fact that she's wearing her Omega watch over her clothing? :) I've never seen that before.

Nicole Kidman Will Get A Sex Change Operation
Yes, you read right, but that's not the whole story! Nicole Kidman herself will not get a sex change, but for her next film role, she will play Einar Wegener, a Danish painter who was the first person to undergo a sex change operation (from male to female) in 1931.
Sorry if I made your heart skip a beat- LOL! The film is currently called 'The Danish Girl' and will be directed by Tomas Alfredson ('Let the Right One In'). Charlize Theron was attached to the project to play the role of Einar's wife, but she has reportedly left the project.
