Rachel Miner Cast In 'Thicker'

I almost didn't recognize Rachel Miner without blond hair! She was out grabbing some coffee this morning, looking fantastic and casual. She's someone we don't see too often. Rachel was just cast in the comedy movie "Thicker", alongside Peter Facinelli, John Goodman, Christopher Lloyd and more. What a great cast! Here's a brief description of the movie:
A brother and sister go to great lengths in an attempt to recover an inheritance that their recently deceased mother was buried with
For those not familiar with Rachel, she's been in a lot of movies and guest starred on quite a few tv shows. What I know her best for is playing the part of "Dani" on Californication, with David Duchovny. She was one of my favorite characters. I keep hoping they'll bring her back but she has so many movies in the works, I'm sure it won't happen.
What do you think of her look?

Bradley Cooper To Star In 'Dark Fields'

Bradley Cooper is on fire these days! He's just signed on to star in a suspense thriller called 'Dark Fields.'
[Dark Fields is] a what-if story about a designer drug that can make you rich and powerful. Eddie (Cooper) is a down-and-out New York writer until he possesses a pill that gives him the ability to access the full capacity of his brain. He soon realizes that his newfound intelligence and success come at a hefty price as mysterious forces begin to pursue him.
It sounds like he's the sole lead in this project (while 'The A-Team' and 'Valentine's Day' were ensemble projects). Does it sound like it's worth a trip to the movies or better suited as a rental?

Isla Fisher May Become A 'Desperado'

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Universal Studios has bought a script called 'Desperados' that may become a movie for comedic actress Isla Fisher.
The story is set in motion when a woman sends an indignant e-mail to her new beau, who's gone silent after they have sex. When she discovers he's comatose in a Mexican hospital, she races south of the border with her friends in tow to intercept the e-mail before he recovers.
Your new boyfriend is in a coma and you rush across the border over a text? Well, flaky characters are funny ones :)
The script is described as "a female-oriented 'Hangover.'" Well, no one can deny how Bradley Cooper's star has risen since starring in 'The Hangover,' and Isla is certainly funny. Does this sound like something worth seeing to you?

Britney Spears Having Trouble In Australia
Here's Britney Spears leaving the Hyatt Hotel Perth for her first Australian concert of her 'Circus' tour. Looks like she switched out her red sunglasses for an orange pair - same style though.
The singer is having a bit of an issue while down under. An official wants to force Britney's camp to let her fans know she isn't singing live during her performance.
Reports that she will lip-sync during many of the concerts prompted the New South Wales Minister for Fair Trading to suggest tickets should carry disclaimers about whether parts of the concerts were pre-recorded.
Australians would not tolerate a "Mickey Mouse performance", Virginia Judge told Sydney's Daily Telegraph in reference to the US star's past as one of Disney's Mouseketeer personalities.
"Let's be clear -- live means live," she said. If you are spending up to $182 dollars, I think you deserve better than a film clip."
They are trying to get a disclaimer placed on the ticket. What do you think about this idea? Should all concerts let their viewers know whether or not the performance is live?

Is 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' Moving To Cable?

According to Deadline Hollywood Daily's Nikki Finke (a reporter who focuses exclusively on Hollywood), it's true. Oprah Winfrey reportedly will move her talk show to her cable network, OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) in 2011.
I've learned that in coming days Winfrey and Discovery will issue a press release announcing OWN's on-air launch for the start of 2011. And, in several weeks, Oprah will tell the public that she's ending her syndicated Chicago-based daytime talk show when her current deal runs out and moving it to OWN headquarters in Los Angeles probably as soon as mid-2011.
Cable is definitely growing, but it doesn't have anywhere near the audience-size of regular TV (despite lots of buzz). Oprah's been so successful for so long that she'll be fine no matter what, and I'm guessing much of her audience has cable, but for all those who don't: no more Oprah.
This could be the end of an era (or lead to a true explosion in cable :). If it's true.

Love It Or Hate It: Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron has to be one of the most low-key A-list celebs out there! She's always struck me as being laid-back and down-to-earth. Now I look at her walk the red carpet for her new film, 'The Road,' and I'm convinced.
Check out the shoes if you don't believe me. When was the last time you saw flats on the red carpet? They do go well with the dress :)
Yes, this movie is based on Cormac McCarthy's novel, 'The Road,' which was also an Oprah Book Club pic. Viggo Mortensen stars in the movie, too. Given that it's based on a best-selling novel, this has to be the quietest release for a movie adaptation I've ever seen. These pictures are the first I've heard about the film coming out. Do you want to see it?
And, of course, my most important question: love it or hate it?

Johnny Depp And Angelina Jolie To Star Together In A Film?

Now this should be an interesting pair on-screen! I told you a while ago that Angelina Jolie had signed on to replace Charlize Theron in 'The Tourist,' with 'Terminator Salvation' star Sam Worthington as her co-star.
Now Sam has pulled out, and Johnny Depp is in talks to replace him as the male lead.
The revamp of the 2005 French spy thriller "Anthony Zimmer" involves a female Interpol agent who ropes an everyman American tourist visiting France into becoming bait in the hunt for a wanted criminal who's also her former lover.
Oh, I hope this happens! I can't even imagine these two together on-screen, but I know I'd go to the theaters to see it. What do you think of Angelina and Johnny starring in a film together?
