Rachelle Lefevre Skips 'New Moon' Premiere

Rachelle Lefevre Skips 'New Moon' Premiere

Contrary to her earlier plans, Rachelle Lefevre did not attend the 'New Moon' premiere last night. She was Victoria in 'Twilight' and 'New Moon' but was replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard for 'Eclipse.' Here's what Rachelle tweeted:

2 fans at the premiere: w/ Honey in hospital & being fired from Eclipse tonight was just 2 emotional 4 me & I couldn't manage it. So sorry

According to Us Weekly, Honey is Rachelle's dog.

The formal reason for Rachelle's firing was a scheduling conflict, according to the studio, Summit Entertainment. Understandably, Rachelle wasn't too pleased about it.

"I was fully committed to the Twilight saga, and to the portrayal of Victoria," Lefevre said. "I turned down several other film opportunities and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules.

"My commitment to [indie flick] Barney's Version is only 10 days. Summit picked up my option for Eclipse. Although the production schedule for Eclipse is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those ten days and would not accommodate me. Given the length of filming for Eclipse, never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10-day overlap," Lefevre continued.

On one hand, the opportunity for exposure at the 'New Moon' premiere was great, but I can understand Rachelle's decision to stay away. Hopefully Honey will make a full recovery!

Rachelle Lefevre Won't Miss The "New Moon" Premiere

Rachelle Lefevre Won't Miss The "New Moon" Premiere

I've really been wondering if Rachelle Lefevre would attend any of the promotional appearances for the upcoming Twilight Saga: New Moon movie since her role of Victoria was given to Bryce Dallas Howard for the 3rd installment of the franchise. According to Life & Style, she wouldn't miss the premiere for anything.

"She'll be there," an insider close to the star confirms to Life & Style. "She worked so hard -- she wouldn't miss it for the world.

She is also still very friendly with the cast, according to the source.

"She's looking forward to reuniting with her New Moon castmates,"

Part of her contract included tickets to the premiere for her and her family, so she's planning to attend. I wonder if it'll be a little awkward, considering the drama that followed the replacement announcement? It has to be a little difficult to watch, knowing that she doesn't get to see Victoria through to the end.

"It's always been her decision whether to go," says the insider. "And Rachelle's decided she wants to."

I'm sure fans will be sad if she's not part of the Hot Topic cast tour, like she was for Twilight. But I'm sure they'll understand why. I'll admit that I'm still not quite over the shock of it all. Rachelle should be very proud of her contribution to this Twilight craze and what she brought to the role of Victoria.

The New Moon Soundtrack - Try It Before You Buy It

The New Moon Soundtrack - Try It Before You Buy It

Good news for Twilight Saga fans! As we told you yesterday, the New Moon soundtrack is being released early (Oct. 16) but you can have a listen today! The Twilight MySpace page is letting the world hear the entire soundtrack for free all day today! So, you can have a listen and it's totally legal! LOL!

I'll say that I think it's pretty good. I've been playing Meet Me on the Equinox for days now - I need an intervention. When the Twilight soundtrack first came out (before the movie), I didn't care for it very much but once I saw the movie - I LOVED it. I played it continuously. So, I'm wondering if that will ring true for this one?

Check out the thumbnails below - spreading a little love to the New Moon cast that doesn't get as much press as the Taylor/Rob/Kristen trio. A few "humans", a couple of "vampires" and a werewolf thrown in for good measure. :)

Summit Entertainment Responds To Rachelle Lefevre Responding To Getting Replaced By Bryce Dallas Howard

Oh boy! Summit Entertainment and Rachelle Lefevre are the new Tori and Candy Spelling. I expect this will go on for a while.  Here is a very long response to Rachelle's claim that she is not to blame for the switch

-----

We at Summit Entertainment are disappointed by Rachelle Lefevre's recent comments which attempt to make her career choices the fault of the Studio. Her decision to discuss her version of the scheduling challenges publicly has forced the Studio to set the record straight and correct the facts.

- Ms. Lefevre's representatives were advised as early as April that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse was expected to start shooting in early August.

- If Ms. Lefevre was, as she describes "passionate," about being part of The Twilight Saga, we feel that she and her representatives would have included us in her decision to work on another film that would conflict with the shooting schedule of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

- It was not until July 20th that Summit was first informed of Ms. Lefevre's commitment to Barney's Version, a commitment we have since been advised she accepted in early June. Summit had acted in good faith that she would be available to fulfill her obligations both in terms of rehearsals and shooting availability for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. We feel that her choice to withhold her scheduling conflict information from us can be viewed as a lack of cooperative spirit which affected the entire production.

Yes, there is a lot more - click on the continue reading link below to read the rest.

Rachelle Lefevre Won Twilight Role Because She's Vampire Obsessed

Rachelle Lefevre Won Twilight Role Because She's Vampire Obsessed

Ok, I'll admit, when I saw the movie, I thought "She is gorgeous. THIS is what a vampire should look like!"

And not only does Rachelle Lefevre fit the beautiful mold for Twilight, but she's also vampire obsessed, which helped make her the perfect choice for the role of Victoria. She actually wrote Catherine Hardwicke a letter talking about her love of vampires and why she was right for the part.

"I've been fascinated by vampires for a long time."

She also says that fame hasn't affected her so much.

"I don't even feel famous. And that's good. I feel like I'm a part of something with a huge fan
base and that's entirely different. It's not about me at all. It's
about the work that Stephenie Meyer created, so while I may be
photographed at a Twilight party, I'm not stopped on the streets of Los
Angeles."

Rachelle thinks that she's not as driven for fame as people from the U.S. because of her Canadian roots.

"I'm not criticizing the States at all. But when you're raised in
Canada, you're brought up with a different appreciation of difference.
We have the mosaic model instead of embracing this general trend of
assimilation - where people are encouraged to believe in the same
things. I was taught to be inquisitive about people and to respect their uniqueness."

Hmm.  What do you think about that last quote? Do we have a different view on celebrities here in the U.S.?

Keep reading to see more from her interview.
