Staying Positive About Leaving ‘DWTS’

Premiere The Lego Movie

Get THE Screen Obsessed TV Buzz:

Yesterday 7th season ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ winner and co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet announced the show’s most shocking elimination of all: her. Brooke was informed on Friday that she would not be returning to ‘DWTS’ when the show kicks off its 18th season next month. She reportedly wasn’t even aware her job was in jeopardy. Now, however, Brooke is staying upbeat. She tweeted:

Thanks for all the love & support. I loved my time in the ballroom & I’ll love my next chapter too. Change is positive. Love you guys!

In response to a tweet from a follower, Brooke added:

I stress about family, not TV. I believe change is a positive thing. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out for all. Xo

That is a GREAT attitude to have. It’s always important to keep your priorities in order! I firmly believe everything happens for a reason. Leaving ‘Dancing with the Stars’ may very well open the door to something bigger for Brooke.

‘Dancing With The Stars’ Surprising Elimination

brooke burke-charvet fired from dwts (1)

There will be some changes in the ballroom at ‘Dancing with the Stars’ when season 18 starts next month. No more live band. And no more Brooke Burke-Charvet as co-host with Tom Bergeron! Brooke never experienced an elimination in the ballroom: she won the 7th season of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ with Derek Hough. This “elimination” was probably far more surprising, however, than anything she had the possibility of experiencing as a competitor. According to E! News, Brooke didn’t realize her job as a co-host was in jeopardy. ‘Dancing with the Stars’ executive producer Conrad Green released a statement.

We can confirm that Brooke Burke-Charvet will not be joining us next season. She’s been a wonderful part of the Dancing with the Stars family since her triumphant win in season seven and will unquestionably be missed by our entire team. We’d like to thank Brooke for her years of great service.”

Brooke reportedly was notified of ABC’s decision yesterday. She said in a statement:

I have enjoyed seven seasons co-hosting DWTS but understand the need for change considering the position of the show at this juncture. I’ve always been one to embrace change and looking forward to pursuing opportunities I previously wasn’t able to entertain because of contractual obligations to the show. I’ve seen my fair share of shocking eliminations in the ballroom but this one takes the cake.”

At midnight ET, Brooke tweeted:

weird day….Shocking pre-season elimination #DWTS…ME. @Tom_Bergeron didn’t even read my name. I won’t be returning to the show this season.

OUCH. It sounds like the show is shaking things up this season. The 18th season of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ premieres on March 17th. Wonder if there will be more changes announced over the next few weeks? Stay tuned…

Night Out On The Town With ‘KUWTK’ Airs Kanye’s Proposal

Get THE Screen Obsessed TV Buzz:

Are you watching the new season of ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’? If you are, then you saw the TV version of Kanye West’s proposal to Kim Kardashian. Reality TV (or at least the Kardashians) are finding themselves in an awkward place. They get so much media attention, we know what’s going to happen before it actually happens on their TV show!

I mean, we all know about Kanye’s elaborate proposal. Does it feel anticlimactic to watch it? Perhaps the audience enjoys getting to actually “see” what happened after reading so much about it in the press. The media attention basically serves as an elaborate teaser trailer. If you watch ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians,’ then weigh in below. Does know what’s going to happen ahead of time make the actual show a little anticlimactic or heighten the anticipation? The show’s ratings are dropping: could this be one of the reasons or just Kardashian fatigue?

‘Chrisley Knows Best’
Sneak Peek Of New Reality TV Show On USA

chrisley knows bestGet THE Screen Obsessed TV Buzz:

The USA network has a new reality TV show. It’s called ‘Chrisley Knows Best’ and actually looks interesting. The show follows self-made millionaire Todd Chrisley who lives with his family in Atlanta. He’s made his fortune in real estate but now wants to pursue his dream of getting into fashion. Todd is also, well, pretty controlling, judging from this sneak peek! He looks like quite a character. Here’s a description of the show:

New half-hour original reality series, CHRISLEY KNOWS BEST, is a real-life family comedy which follows Atlanta-based self-made multimillionaire Todd Chrisley, his devoted wife Julie and their five children who live a seemingly picture-perfect Southern life with everything money can buy. A “patriarch of perfection,” Todd runs his family just like his business – with an iron fist – and micromanages every move and expenditure made by each member of the Chrisley clan. But behind the façade of the family’s fairy-tale like 30,000 square-foot home, real-life issues and lots of laugh-out-loud drama unfolds.

‘Chrisley Knows Best’ is set to premiere on Tuesday, March 11. You can follow the show on twitter (#ChrisleyKnowsBest) or Facebook. I think I might have to check this out next month!

‘The Biggest Loser’ Says She Trained Too Hard

rachel fredericksonA week after Rachel Frederickson caused some jaws to drop by winning ‘The Biggest Loser‘ with a total weight loss of 155 lbs, she’s speaking out to People. Rachel started the competition at 260 lbs (she’s 5′ 5″). She was 150 lbs by the time she became a finalist. The three finalists all go home and lose more weight on their own for the last three months in competition for a $250K grand prize. Rachel dropped another 45 lbs while at home, resulting in a final weight of 105 lbs, which is underweight for someone of her height. Rachel said she lost the weight by eating 1,600 calories a day and working out several times a day. She told People:

Maybe I was a little too enthusiastic in my training to get to the finale.”

When asked if she had an eating disorder, Rachel responded, “I am very, very healthy.” It’s a bit much to say she has an eating disorder! I still think she really wanted that $250K, and who wouldn’t? A producer for ‘The Biggest Loser’ said Rachel was monitored throughout her time on the show, including the time she spent at home, leading up to the finale.

Rachel passed all the required medical tests ensuring she was healthy.”

Regardless, Rachel’s trainer on the show, Dolvett Quince, said seeing her at the finale was a surprise.

The first thing that went through my mind was, ‘That’s just too much.’ “

Rachel may have overdone it a bit, but I think she wanted to win the show. I could see thinking, I’m going to lose every pound I can for the show, win the money, and get to a healthy weight afterwards. That’s why, personally, I think ‘The Biggest Loser’ needs to put in the caveat that contestants need to stay within the recommended weight range for their height/body frame, so someone who loses too much is disqualified. Some of you seemed to agree with me in our own INO polls ;).

Ready To Rumble On ‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’

kandi on rhoaGet THE Screen Obsessed TV Buzz:

OMG. Kandi Burruss was ready go BRAWL on ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta.’ By now, I think the lesson should be clear: Do Not Talk About Her Fiance Todd Tucker! This is a clip of more drama from NeNe Leakes’ sleepover. You know things are bad when even NeNe is like “I’m so tired, child: I’m really tired” – LOL.

I think this season (like all the other seasons) has made it clear: NO ONE has more drama than the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ ladies. Kandi was ready to come to blows with Peter here. It looks like it’s all Todd can do to hold her back. This clip makes another lesson clear: Do Not Touch Kandi.

‘X Factor’ Cancelled: Returning To ‘X Factor UK’

Simon Cowell Attends "Britain's Got Talent" Auditions

Get THE Screen Obsessed TV Buzz:

After entertaining us for years as a straight-talking judge on ‘American Idol’ and ‘X Factor,’ Simon Cowell is heading back to the UK to focus on ‘X Factor UK.’ Fox cancelled the US version of ‘X Factor‘ after three seasons. Simon said in a statement:

I’ve had a fantastic time over the last 12 years, both on The X Factor and American Idol. And apart from being lucky enough to find some amazing talent on the shows, I have always had an incredible welcome from the American public (most of the time!).” The sometimes-acerbic judge added, “I also want to thank everybody who has supported my shows. America, I’ll see you soon!”

Kevin Reilly, the President of Fox, said in a statement of his own:

Unfortunately, there is no X Factor USA without Simon Cowell. But we understand and support his decision to focus on the international formats and on the next phase of his personal life. We wish him the very best, and it’s our sincere hope that we work together again soon.”

‘X Factor’ never quite caught on like ‘American Idol’ or ‘The Voice,’ so the cancellation isn’t a shock. It sounds like Simon is planning to spend most of his time in his native England. I wonder if Lauren Silverman, the woman he’s expecting a baby with, is moving to the UK with him? She has a son in the NYC. I thought Simon might be relocating from LA to New York to make all of that work. We’ll see: he’s got the resources to travel anywhere he wants whenever he wants, I think. I’ve gotta ask, though:
