First Look: Robert Downey Jr. In Iron Man 2
If you would have told me that this picture of Robert Downey Jr. playing Tony Stark was from the original 'Iron Man', I would have believed you. BUT I am not a fanatic when it comes to superhero movies.
USA TODAY released the first shot from the upcoming 'Iron Man 2' and it shows Robert surrounded by a variety of gear for his alterego.
Director Jon Favreau says this movie will be about Tony struggling to live with the many parts that make him who he is.
“How many superheroes are open about their true identities?” Favreau asks. “We wanted to play with that idea. But it obviously has consequences — in his relationships, on the team. There are a lot of areas we can explore.”
I'm officially excited!
Robert Downey Jr. Has To Check His Ego
Robert Downey Jr. has admitted he has an issue controlling his ego.
The ‘Soloist’ actor finds it difficult to remain levelheaded about his
career and often has to remind himself acting is just a job.
"It's always about ego. My challenge is to hold my own space
and remember what purpose I'm serving. And I'm serving a purpose. My purpose
is to be of service."
I am so glad that he at least acknowledges this! He should be proud he is aware enough to recognize the issue. After recently starring in hit movies ‘Iron Man’ and ‘Tropic Thunder’, the
44-year-old actor admits he almost let his stardom get the better of him.
"You have a billion-dollar box office year and you start
wondering if there isn't more to you. Maybe I'm more than I thought… Nope!"
In ‘The Soloist’, Robert plays a Los Angeles journalist Steve Lopez, who
befriends a homeless musician and shares his story with the city. This is one movie I feel great about promoting!

Jamie Foxx Feared Becoming Mentally Ill Himself While Shooting The Soloist
Jamie Foxx sat down with Sal Masekela on the E! Daily 10 show tonight to talk about his fears while filming his new movie, The Soloist (which is based on a true story about a homeless man with schizophrenia who also happens to be a gifted musician).
What was interesting about this is I've always had a
childhood fear that I would lose my mind. So when I went in to meet
with that psychiatrist I said 'Let me ask you something. By me doing
this character, what's the chances of me catching schizophrenia?' As if
it was a coldFoxx continues: 'Playing Ray, I was really Ray. Like, my
friend called me says 'How's it going?' I said, 'I'm him.' He said
'What do you mean? (in Ray voice) 'I said, eh, listen, I'm him.' With
this, it's like how do you pull yourself out?' "
For Jamie's sake, it's a good thing there's a difference between make-believe and reality, isn't it?
Jamie credits his co-star, Robert Downey Jr, with helping him during the shoot.
He helped me a lot as far as keeping me, when I was
telling him, 'Man I was tripping in my head.' He was like 'dude. I've
tripped in my head so many times. You're not going through anything
trust me.' "

Robert Downey Jr And Gwyneth Paltrow On The Set Of Iron Man 2
Be still my excited heart!!!
Robert Downey Jr was spotted smoking a cigar and taking a break before heading back to the set of "Iron Man 2" in Los Angeles yesterday. Gwyneth Paltrow was also photographed in the car. Doesn't matter to me how much we see of them, just knowing they are finally filming makes me incredibly happy. I LOVED "Iron Man" and the whole teaser at the end has me super excited.
I'm also curious to see how Scarlett does. Many TRUE fans of the story are angry that she won a role in the movie. Hope she can prove them wrong.

Robert Downey Jr's Sherlock Holmes Is Both Brainy And Brawny
Robert Downey Jr. talks about his new movie, Sherlock Holmes, to Entertainment Tonight. Apparently, it's an "action-packed" movie, which has already thrown me for a loop. I always imagined Sherlock Holmes to be very brainy, not so much brawny. Yet Robert had to get in shape for the role so he could be both brainy and brawny.
Robert's wife Susan is a producer on the film, and she
observes, 'Robert certainly has something in common with Sherlock -- he
has this incredible brain,' adding about Robert's incredible physique
in the film, 'he worked very hard to get [there].' "
I'm always on the lookout for diet and exercise tips, aren't you? Well, here's what Robert did.
'You just get skinny, you don't eat as much and you keep working out,'
Robert sarcastically says about his ripped bod in the film. 'I've heard
people have been doing it for years.' "
LOL! The man does have a point ;)
Are you looking forward to this movie? I hope you have a lot of patience because it isn't scheduled to be released until Christmas Day.

Robert Downey Jr. Writing A Musical
As if Robert Downey Jr. needs another thing on his plate, the actor revealed he is working on a musical.
"I’m a little busy right now. Every two years or so I’m saying that I am going to do a big musical; I’m just tired of saying that I am going to do stuff that sounds cool. If I’m going to do something, I’m going to do it."
"It’s always lame when somebody gets really famous and they say they’re going to be a singer. I’m like, ‘You’ve already won the lottery, so take it easy, moron!’ But I’m also a composer and I sing what I write."
I had no idea he was musical. Robert has two albums out - in 2004 he released The Futurist and he also recorded a Christmas album with Vonda Shepard. Time to google!
