Shakira Opens Up About Her Belly Dancing Skills
Shakira believes her ability belly dance isn’t something she ever had to learn, it just comes naturally.
“For me, it was, and is, more of a natural thing. It’s something that was practically given to me at birth, and for which I never had to train myself. These movements, they are inside me and I can call them back whenever I need them.”
Shakira realizes she is a sex symbol to men all over the world but insists she is “flattered” that guys find her attractive because she has never believed she is a beautiful woman.
“I must confess that I feel very flattered - because I never have felt particularly sexy. Anybody who shows me like this is promoting my feminine vanity.”
But Shakira admits it’s not easy looking as good as she does, and she has to stick to a rigorous training regime to stay slim and sexy. She added to German magazine Fit For Fun:
“I trained really hard for the ‘She Wolf’ video - almost a month. I wanted to look good and didn’t want to shame myself. There was no muscle in my body that did not hurt. I was in pain for days, simply because I'd gone too far.”
I can't even imagine.

Shakira Attends Launch Party For 'She Wolf'

Yes, every single time I see Shakira, that sounds goes off in my head. It's immediate. I can't help myself. What can I say? That song is catchy.
Here's Shakira attending a party at the Bowery Hotel to launch her new album "She Wolf" and to celebrate her Rolling Stone cover in NYC last night. She also accepted a plaque commemorating 1 million copies sold of her album’s title-track.
Let's talk about those extensions. It's certainly a fun hairstyle isn't it? But is it the singer's best look?

Stars Arriving For MTV Europe Music Awards
The MTV Europe Music Awards are just getting underway in Berlin, Germany. A few red carpet arrivals included Shakira, Pete Wentz, Katy Perry, Juliette Lewis and more. They are all looking amazing! Check out Pete's eye makeup.
Katy Perry is serving as the host of the awards. Shakira and Foo Fighters, Jay-Z, and Beyonce are all scheduled to perform tonight.
I wonder if there's a way to watch these here in the states? This year's MTV awards show in NY was so good, I'm curious to see how it compares to the European ones?

Shakira's Body Wants To Reproduce
I guess that's another way of saying Shakira hears the tick-tock of her biological clock :) Shakira is comfortable with the physical changes that can come after having a baby because a baby is worth it.
"My body feels like it is asking to reproduce, to have a huge belly and carry babies," she tells the new issue of Rolling Stone, on newsstands today. "My boyfriend is six feet tall, and sometimes I feel like I'm his keychain, a small thing."
Although Shakira is in a monogamous relationship with investment banker Antonio de la Rua (and they've been together for the past nine years), the singer has no plans to get married.
"We live in a society that represses women's subconscious dreams," Shakira, who considers herself a die-hard feminist, says.
"You know, women have to make enormous efforts through life, much larger than men. We deal with so many pressure: the pressure of aesthetics, and how society wants us to deliver our performances as mothers, daughters and wives.
"It's funny how the papers want to see you married, and then they want to see you divorced," she continues. "Well, I won't do any of it."
So it sounds like Shakira feels limited by the idea of getting married. Marriage certainly does require compromise! Do you feel it can be limiting in some ways?
