I attended the preview of Hailey Logan by Adrianna Papell new dress collection last week. There were so many dresses I wanted to run away with, especially the long black one. The best thing about the collection is that it's so inexpensive! My black dress was only $119!

These dresses are for any occasion, perfect for a birthday or wedding. What do you guys think?

Banana Republic Basics

I am, and always will be, a believer in making sure the basics of your wardrobe are good quality. This is why I bring before you these basics tees. I love to layer my clothing (especially during the cold months!) and tees and tanks are my go-to item every single day. There is never a day that I'm not wearing some form of a t-shirt or thank top.
These basics from Banana Republic are made from soft cotton and are durable (something you don't want to skimp out on). My theory is that if you're going to wear it every day it better be comfortable and it better last a long time!
1. Striped tee
2.Essential crewneck tee
3. Solid fitted tee
4. Cotton striped tank

Jones New York And New York Cares
Jones New York and New York Cares made people cry on Thursday. Jones NY in the Classroom, the non-profit organization, made over the East New York Elementary School of Excellence and brought tears to the eyes of teachers and the principal when they saw the finished results. When I heard about this initiative, I was picturing an Extreme Home Makeover situation and became dubious as to how well this project could be done in 8 hours by volunteers from JNY and New York Cares.
The group started at around 8:30am and closed shop at 3:30pm. I arrived at around 1pm to find over 100 volunteers assembling furniture, painting walls, hanging pictures, you name it. The organization of the project was excellent. Volunteers were grouped according to the room they were re-doing with an extra team for the furniture assembly. All of the furnishings and decorative pieces came from places like Target and Ikea, which meant that a crazy amount of time needed to be spent putting everything from chairs and tables to desks and cabinets together. The teams repainted the walls in themes. I walked around the building, which is housed a few blocks away from low-income housing projects, and noticed that everyone seemed to be calm as they worked hard. They looked like they assembled rooms everyday.
JNY made over the dance studio, a teachers' lounge, a PTA room, a few hallways nooks, the technology room and a few others. The teachers' lounge and the PTA room were equipped with lounge couches and magazines and looked incredibly inviting. Each hallway nook was decorated according to a theme. One was the jungle. Books about the jungle were placed on new cabinets and cushions were tossed in a corner so the kids who hang out after school could comfortably enjoy themselves, instead of being out in the streets. One kid commented that he loved it so much that he'll never want to go to class. He obviously didn't see the technology room. Equipped with a Smart Board, Jones NY bought 28 IMacs for this room.
The renovations finished at around 3pm with very little fanfare, as volunteers smoothly cleaned up and put the finishing touches up. The principal of the school then presented Jones NY with a Thank You banner and Jones NY presented the principal with a plaque. Then, they led her on a tour of the school. Needless to say, it brought tears to her eyes. She was so grateful, on behalf of her students and teachers. The dance teacher also could not compose herself when she saw the new musical instruments, a ballet beam, and foam mats for her new dance studio. All in all, the project was a major success, thanks to the generous hearts and hard workers at Jones NY and New York Cares.
