More Evidence That Simon Cowell Is Soft
Simon Cowell has reached out in a big way to help a little 18-month old girl get the experimental cancer treatment she needs. The little girl, Sophie Atay, was diagnosed with a neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer earlier this year. Her mom has been working to raise the $800,000 needed for an experimental treatment. One of Simon's friends, X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke, told him of the mother's fundraising efforts and Simon gave the girl the remaining $160,000 needed!
"I'd told Simon about the situation and that there was no time to waste because Sophie needs the treatment immediately, and he decided to give her the money in a second," Burke tells the Mail. "Now we're hopeful Sophie will be on the flight to the U.S. today."
The treatment is said to have the possibility of raising Sophie's survival rate from 20 percent to 90 percent! It's so sad that not all families have access to some of these treatments due to the outrageous costs. What an amazing thing Simon did!

What Do You Get A Guy Who Has Everything? Mirrors!
Simon Cowell was given 179 mirrors for his 50th birthday. The music mogul – who is known for his vanity – received the items from friends and family for reaching the landmark age today.
According to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, Simon told a friend:
“They came in all shapes and sizes – big ones, small ones, full-length ones, even dental ones so I can look at my teeth. A couple of people even bought me magnifying ones to help me inspect my wrinkles.”
I love that everyone got together and went in on this joke! So funny! Imagine having dozens of presents to open up and then finding it's all the same gag gift?
However, Simon doesn’t intend to keep the huge haul of mirrors. He is planning to donate most of them to be auctioned to raise money for Battersea Dogs Home – which cares for abandoned or lost cats and dogs in the UK.
Simon celebrated his birthday with a $1.6 million bash at stately home Wrotham Park in Barnet, Hertfordshire, on Saturday night. The event was a star-studded affair, attended by 400 guests including supermodels Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, his fellow ‘X Factor’ judges Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
Several of Simon's ex-girlfriends were also in attendance, including Terri Seymour, Sinitta and Jackie St Clair.

Simon Cowell never needs to earn another dollar (or pound depending on where you are reading this from)! Why does this man work so hard? Take a break Simon - let other people in the world earn some millions. LOL! :)
Kate Moss is set to launch a $1.6 billion business empire with Simon Cowell.
The supermodel has joined forces with the music mogul and British businessman Philip Green to form a global entertainment super-company which the trio hope will be able to compete with Disney.
The 35-year-old beauty will be directing the style and image of the brand, as well as giving fashion advice, and experts say if it is a success, she could double her fortune to $160 million.
Kate’s friend said:
"She has been signed as a figurehead and style setter for the fashion end of the business. She will bring her expertise to the table, advising on all branding and style for clothes, hair and accessories.
“She will also be involved in finding and signing new bands and promoting them.
Something that has also been talked about is Kate developing her own singing career and starting a music label.
“She has a big network of people Philip and Simon have no access to and they want her to make the new venture hip.”
Kate has become very close to Philip over the past few years since she signed up to create her own clothing range for Topshop – the chain of British high street stores he owns.
He was keen to get her on board for his new project as he is aware she is growing tired of modeling and wants a new challenge.

Jerry Seinfeld tops this list of stars with reported earnings of $87 million a year. 'Seinfeld' residuals must still be coming in strong ;)
Will Smith is pretty close behind with $80 million. He gets well for being considered one of the last bankable movie stars!
'American Idol' host Simon Cowell reportedly makes $72 million a year. Whew! I guess he can afford to leave the show if he wants, can't he?
Jennifer Aniston makes $27 million, while Brad Pitt reportedly makes $20 million. I wouldn't have guessed that Brad makes less than Jennifer, but I guess if you're counting 'Friends' residuals, that could make a big difference.
It's a tough field, but it certainly pays well if you make it!

A Woman Tried To Strangle Simon Cowell's Ex-Girlfriend Outside Nokia Theatre
I cannot believe how crazy fans are sometimes, this is just out of control!
Last night at the American Idol finale, a woman reportedly walked up to Teri Seymour, Simon Cowell's ex-girlfriend and assaulted her.
It happened at L.A. Live -- a complex that includes the Nokia Theatre
where "A.I." was taped. A 33-year-old woman walked up to Terri, asked
if she was Simon's girlfriend. The suspect allegedly attacked her and
attempted to choke her.The suspect -- Janice Thibodeaux -- was booked on felony battery. She's being held on $52,700 bail.
The woman's brother and sister say that Janice is "not crazy" and this is "way out of character."
YIKES. Thank goodness that everyone is OK.

Simon Cowell Set To Quit American Idol
Simon Cowell is tired. He is working too much and there is one show that is to blame - American Idol.
The star, who also fronts Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor in his native U.K., tells British tabloid the Daily Mirror he makes up to four transatlantic flights a week just to keep up with his hectic filming.
As if that wasn't enough, Simon also heads a record label, and a television production firm! Oh my word! And I thought two kids and a blog was a lot to manage. :)
"I don't want to come over as whiney because I am very grateful that I have got these jobs. But there is a point where I am not sure we can keep this schedule up.
"It takes longer and longer to make these shows because you have to put more into them, and I am not sure we can sustain me doing three shows a year, with the record label and the TV production company.
"Most people do one show a year and I do three and they involve a lot of travelling. One may have to go. I don't know which one. That is the problem, I like all of them. I can't imagine not doing Britain's Got Talent and I can't imagine not doing X Factor.
"But I guess America is more likely to go because I have got one year under contract. Maybe that will be the end."
What will Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi, Ryan Seacrest, and Paula Abdul do without Simon?
