American Idol Adds Fourth Judge
American Idol is adding a fourth judge to the panel - songwriter Kara DioGuardi.
“We are turning the heat up on Idol this year and are thrilled to welcome Kara to the judges’ table,” show creator Simon Fuller said in a statement released Monday. “She is a smart, sassy lady, and one of America’s most successful songwriters. We know she will bring a new level of energy and excitement to the show.”
So what is Kara's deal? She's been responsible for hits sung by Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus, The Jonas Brothers, Gwen Stefani, Celine Dion, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, Santana, and Pink.
Looks like AI is trying to keep things fresh and exciting. The last 27 seasons have had slight alterations as we progressed over the years.
What do you think about adding the fourth judge? What happens if it's an even split decision? Which will probably happen more times than not! Don't you need an odd number of judges? Perhaps this is a way for American Idol to ensure more conflict.

Simon Cowell took his lovely mother to lunch at The Ivy for Mother's Day and from the looks of it they had a great time. I think it's wonderful that he was with his mom yesterday and even though he can be mean (an understatement), at least we know he loves his parents. :)

I wish Simon Cowell was proud of ME!!!! Holy smokes...the American Idol judge was so proud of X-Factor winner Leona Lewis that he's buying her a $5 million dollar mansion in Beverly Hills. Ok, so let me just say that again...he's giving her a FIVE MILLION DOLLAR GIFT. A source said that he thinks she could become the next Whitney Houston (hopefully minus the whole drug addiction thing).

Sometimes he's just mean, but for the most part I kind of cheer for him. Did you hear about how he paid off a $160K mortgage for a family with a child that has cancer on Oprah? I mean that is just so admirable.

Simon Cowell Spies On His Neighbors
"I saw that Dudley Moore film and it was great. Afterwards, I got a telescope installed in my kitchen so I can spy on people. I look out over the Hollywood Hills into my neighbours' gardens. It's an amazing view. It isn't powerful enough to see into their homes - so you can't see them in the shower - but you can see into their gardens. It's great fun. I just like to keep an eye on what is happening."

Would You Promote Viagra For $2 Million?
Simon Cowell was offered $2 million smackaroos to be the face for Viagra and he turned it down. I guess when you make as much money as he does, that really isn't a lot of cash. Not only did he turn it down, but he called it an insult. At first I thought he meant the paycheck, but my guess is he doesn't feel he is the right demographic for the drug.
