'Twilight' Author Stephenie Meyer Reveals 'New Moon' Secret And Talks About More 'Twilight' Books

Did you get a chance to watch 'Twilight' author Stephenie Meyer's interview on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' yesterday? She spilled a secret about the 'New Moon' ending and talked some more to producers backstage (apparently, because the show was live, there wasn't time to get to everything).

...[H]er original ending for New Moon was much quieter, until her mother urged her to jazz it up some. The result? Meyer moved up the first confrontation with the Volturi, which is now her favorite sequence in the movie.

There was also an interesting question that didn't get answered: would there be a fifth book in the 'Twilight' saga? Here's part of what Stephenie had to say:

"I can't answer it. The way I write, it's what makes me happy, like, I can't write when I feel like people are looking over my shoulder, so I have to tell myself that this book, I'm not gonna publish, it's only for me...

"Also, I'm a little burned out on vampires right now... I might go spend some time with my aliens, something completely different, I've gotta cleanse the palette.

"I may come back to it. I did envision it as a longer series, but I wrapped up Breaking Dawn in such a way that I felt satisfied with, so if that moment didn't come, I'd be okay."

But Stephenie did admit that she knows "exactly what happens." Click here to see the video of Stephenie's backstage interview.

Hopefully Stephenie will get her palate cleansed quickly and tell us what else happens in the 'Twilight' world!

'Twilight' Author Stephenie Meyer Will Be On 'Oprah'

'Twilight' Author Stephenie Meyer Will Be On 'Oprah'

It's about time! I know 'Twilight' probably wouldn't make the list for Oprah's Book Club, but the series is so popular, it seems only fitting that Stephenie Meyer should appear on 'Oprah'! And now she will, according to a message she posted on her website.

You know I've been doing the hermit thing this last year, in so far as media is concerned, and I'm not changing that now, but I am making an exception. I'm doing this for a good reason: I am so pleased and amazed and thrilled with what Chris Weitz has done with New Moon that I want to talk about it, and to show my support for him. And since I'm only doing one interview, better make it big. Really big. So....I will be on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Friday, November 13th.

That's this Friday! Are you 'Twilight' fans excited?

'Twilight' Author Stephenie Meyer Will Become A Comic Book Character

'Twilight' Author Stephenie Meyer Will Become A Comic Book Character

This is an interesting way to tell the story of 'Twilight' author Stephenie Meyer's phenomenal rise in the publishing world: in a comic book (a.k.a. graphic novel). Bluewater Productions will write the comic as part of the Female Force series.

"We get to turn the tables on Meyer and she becomes the featured
protagonist," Bluewater's president said in a release. "And we are
going to tell her story in a very fun, respectful and unique way."

Writer Ryan Burton revealed to EW that a well known vampire character will serve as the narrator.

Stephenie's comic will be released as a standard, 22-page edition and a special 40-page collector's edition with bonus materials.

congratulations, Stephenie! Are you 'Twilight' fans interested?

New Message From Stephanie Meyer

New Message From Stephanie Meyer

Before I start talking about Meyer, I wanted to bring your attention to the new Wolf pack. HELLLO HANDSOME!

Four actors — Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Bronson Pelletier, all with Native American heritage — join Taylor Lautner, 17, who returns as a hairier, scarier Jacob Black. The plotline finds Jacob growing closer to a distraught Bella (Kristen Stewart) after her vampire beau, Edward, runs off.

What do you think about their look? YUM!

Ok - onto Stephenie now...

Stephenie Meyer took to her blog to address some recent rumors about her beloved 'Twilight' series, including the one claiming 'New Moon' production came to a halt.

----

Here is her most recent entry:

There are a lot of things I should be doing updates on—for example,
how awesome and successful the Book Babe event was, and how cool it was
to meet all the other authors and hang out with them a little bit, and
how much I appreciated all the tremendous support from the fans—but
instead of commenting on happy things (which I admit I should have done
a week ago; I was waiting for things to slow down for a day, silly
me!), I'm commenting on ridiculous internet rumors so that my
publicist's day will be just a little bit better.

I am not being sued. No one has contacted me or my publisher to
inform either of us that I'm being sued. I never had a roommate named
Heidi. There is no professor in the BYU English department named Dr.
Peter Benton (though there is a character on ER by that name). And most
of all, I began writing Twilight exactly the way I've told
people in countless interviews and events for the past six years: I had
a cool dream, I wrote it down, writing it down was really fun, so I
kept writing until I had a whole book.
