The Annual Pre-Grammy Gala
The Recording Academy presented the Annual Pre-Grammy party and a slew of our favorite artists graced the red carpet. This is such an exciting time for the music industry. More times than not we focus on the film industry - so now it's their turn to shine. ;)
So, who showed up?
Djimon Hounsou and a pregnant Kimora Lee, Clive Davis, Jennifer Hudson, Leona Lewis, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Jamie Foxx, Fantasia, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Kelly Clarkson, Rihanna, Chris Brown, and Carrie Underwood.
Have you noticed that ever since Katy split from her boyfriend Travis McCoy, she is no longer bubbly on the red carpet. She rarely smiles anymore. I think she is still hurting from the break up.

Taylor Swift Announces Tour's Opening Act
Taylor Swift is big enough now that this year she'll do her own headlining tour! And the person she chose to be her opening act is none other than one of her good friends, Kellie Pickler.
"My headlining tour starts in April, so I'm really excited about
that. For the past three years I've been writing down ideas for ... a
headlining tour, and I get to do one now," the singer told MTV News.
"It is unbelievable to me that that is actually happening. But I'm
planning the stage and the wheels are all turning."Kellie Pickler
is actually going to be my opening act ... she's, like, my best friend.
It's going to be really fun just spending the summer with your best
friend. [It] solves that issue of ever being bored!"
She also has a guest appearance on CSI coming up in March, which she's really excited about....so much going on! Taylor is truly living the dream right now. It's amazing how she went from a talented but anonymous singer to an idol for girls everywhere practically overnight!

Two New Celebrity Fashion Lines To Consider
Country fans will be happy to hear that both Taylor Swift and Toby Keith have launched their own clothing lines. Yippee!! More celebrities doing branded lines. :)
Taylor's line of budget sundresses will launch at Walmart later on this month.
"It was very important for me to create cute, affordable dresses,
especially in these hard times. Making expensive dresses just doesn't
make any sense."I like people who have worked their
entire lives to become designers. I think that they have their place as
designers and I have my place as a musician, and I’m going to pretty
much stick to that."
The Beer For My Horses singer will start selling TK Steelman hats, shirts, jeans and belts at his I Love This Bar & Grill in Las Vegas in a few weeks. But don't worry! Stores like Kohl’s, Wal-Mart, Target and Macy’s are expected to stock Keith’s clothing line shortly thereafter.
Taylor Swift In Teen Vogue
Taylor Swift is such a little cutie! For March, she graces the cover of Teen Vogue and opens up on her life as a famous 19 year old country singer.
"I'm the kind of person who needs to feel like
everything happens for a reason. When you date a guy and it goes badly,
that's horrible. But if you can write a song about it, then it was
worth it."
Her rise to fame wasn't easy.
"...for spring break we rented a car and drove up and down Music Row,
handing my homemade demo CD to the receptionists at all the labels. I'd
say, "Hey, I'm eleven, and I want a record deal. Call me."I never expected all this would happen to me."
And she's another teen beauty who's playing the high school outcast card,
"The kids at school thought it was weird that I liked country—they'd
make fun of me. Junior high was actually sort of hard, because I got
dumped by this group of popular girls. They didn't think I was cool or
pretty enough, so they stopped talking to me."
As for dating, so far Taylor hasn't been terribly lucky in love.
"Well, I'm typically single. I'm the girl who—I call it
girl-next-door-itis--the hot guy is friends with and gets all his
relationship advice from but never considers dating. Right now I'm not
opposed to falling in love, but I'm also not exactly out there looking. "
So many celebrities say they weren't popular in high school! I find it hard to believe that someone who seems as sweet and humble as Taylor wasn't well-liked. Then again, we all know how cruel kids can be.
