Giuliana Rancic is leaving L.A. behind! After a tough few months, the E! News hostess and her family are heading back to Chicago full time, she announced this weekend. But don’t fear, she’ll still be doing plenty of work in NYC and Chicago.
Great news for Sheldon Cooper fans – Big Bang Theory has been renewed for three more seasons!
It’s kind of no surprise that television’s “most watched, highest rated” program would be renewed, but a three season bundle is a pretty huge move for a network to make. This renewal will bring the show through 10 seasons, at which point – well, that’s quite the run for a comedy! And honestly, the more Kaley Cuoco we can get in our lives, the better – so we’re thrilled!
In a statement to the press, CBS Entertainment Chair Nina Tassler said,
Comedy is a big part of our schedule, and The Big Bang Theory is the biggest comedy force on television. This multi-year deal further strengthens our network’s position for future seasons and marks another chapter in the great partnership CBS enjoys with Warner Bros. Television for delivering audiences the best in comedy. We’re proud to work with and showcase the incredible talents of Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro and this amazing cast every week.

It turns out that there has been a method – or at least a reason – behind Bruce Jenner’s new prettification regime.
Apparently, Bruce’s new-found interest in his appearance – including having his Adam’s Apple shaved down and maintaining long and lustrous locks – had to do with a being on Season 18 of Dancing With The Stars.
It also turned out that Bruce won’t be appearing on the show… because his wife, (Ex-wife? Soon-to-be-ex-wife?) Kris Jenner, won’t let him. Sources are saying that Kris is worried that Bruce’s popularity will outshine her own fame, and as a result she is forbidding him from appearing on the ballroom dancing competition.
For his part, we’re a bit surprised that Bruce is letting her boss him around. We thought part of his move to Malibu and the separation was so that he could assert his independence from Kris… not continue to be pushed around from afar.

The duo, who wrote Good Will Hunting and later won an Academy Award for their efforts, have just had their sitcom More Time With Family picked up by CBS. Ben and Matt aren’t going to be writing this sitcom – that honor falls to Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa. Instead they’ll be co-executive producers of the series, which will focus on a father who makes a huge career change in order to make more time for his family (… as the title suggests).
While not much else is known about the series yet, it has been confirmed that Tom Papa – a comedian – has landed the starring role.

Casting is officially underway for the How I Met Your Mother spin-off series! (I am practically jumping up and down in my seat writing this!)
The series, titled How I Met Your Dad, will be focused on a main character called Sally, who is the “new” Ted Mosby. The series will follow Sally’s adventures through the city as she dates all the wrong guys, before meeting the right one. While many had been hoping that the series would focus on the newly introduced Mother from the original series, it doesn’t look like that’s the case – although perhaps we’ll get some intersecting storylines from time to time.
Here’s the scoop, via TVLine, on what the casting directors are looking for in the new characters:
SALLY | She’s vibrant, messy and unpredictable — a “female Peter Pan who has never grown up and has no idea of where she’s going in life.” She’s thinking of calling it quits with her husband of a year, Gavin. She’ll lean on her circle of friends for advice and support through the inevitable divorce. That circle includes…
JULIET | Sally’s sexy, flamboyant, energetic, party-girl BFF. She runs a successful fashion blog. She’s delighted to learn Sally is ending things with the terminally boring Gavin.
DANNY | Sally’s older gay brother, a Type A, overachieving lawyer whom she shares little in common with. They nonetheless share a tight bond, although Sally’s decision to move in with Danny after her split with Gavin promises to test that bond.
TODD | Danny’s warm, outgoing husband and one of Sally’s closest friends from college. Unlike Danny, Todd welcomes Sally into their home.
FRANK | The head of IT for Juliet’s fashion blog. He’s a hot nerd. He has genuine feelings for Sally, but it’s a one-sided flirtation. At least for the moment.
NARRATOR | It’s Sally from the future. She’s reliving the events of her past to her kids.
