Dresses From The 2008 Glamour Woman Of The Year Awards
I love how red carpet events in NYC usually don't have red carpets. The actors and actresses just walk on the street into whatever venue the function chose to use. That's a big difference between the East and the West.
America Ferrera, Kate Bosworth, Natalie Portman, Jane Krakowski, Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, Fergie, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Taylor Swift, Debra Messing, and Tyra Banks all stepped out to attend the 2008 Glamour Woman of the Year Awards held at the Carnegie Hall.
Nicole obviously was the recipient and while wearing a L'Wren Scott cream sheath down the red carpet, she said about her win: "It's such a privilege. I feel a little overwhelmed."

22 Year Old Auctions Off Virginity For Millions
Things like this just make me so sick! I don't know what's worse. The fact that a 22 year old is auctioning off her virginity or the fact that over 5,000 men have bid on it.
Natalie Dylan, the 22-year-old college graduate who is auctioning off her virginity, spoke for the first time on camera about her decision with “The Tyra Banks Show.”
Dylan says she has received bids ranging between $1 million and $3.8 million from more than 5,000 men, including bids from a rock star and a famous actor.
Dylan tells “The Tyra Banks Show” how she came to the decision to auction off her virginity.
“We wanted to study the dichotomous nature between virginity and prostitution. There’s really been so few case studies of it…I stumbled upon this article of a Peruvian woman who wanted to sell her virginity and she was offered and exorbitant amount of cash...$1.5 million.
Dylan, who wants to pursue a career in sex therapy says she’s not treating this like a regular auction.
“It’s not like an eBay auction…I don’t have to take the highest bidder. I’m taking time to get to know the guys. We contact each other back and forth.”

I haven't used the word busted since 1995... and I don't think I'm joking. But Tyra Banks is bringing it back one inspirational quote at a time. Us Weekly has come out with the best dressed in NY list and Tyra voiced her opinion on it while hosting the magazine's celebration ceremony.
"You walk the streets of New York and people see you - you gotta look cute, in New York, you have to be popping. There’s no excuse to not look right. If you catch me looking busted, I
deserve the worst dressed list."

Tyra Banks As The First Lady... Of Fashion
Harper's Bazaar took a new twist on fashion with September's edition showing Tyra Banks dressed up as Michelle Obama. What do you think about this set? The magazine puts out two different covers each month - one for subscribers and one for in-store purchasers.
WWD says the set was thought up after Michelle turned down their offer to pose. Great way to improvise!
And if you can’t get Michelle Obama for your cover, what should you do? Improvise — which is what Harper’s Bazaar has done for its September cover and a fashion spread, featuring Tyra Banks as first lady, wearing only American fashion, from Banana Republic to Badgley Mischka. “Michelle Obama, you’re one hot mama,” Banks proclaims in the story, adding she’d love to have Obama as a guest on her show. As for the ideal first lady behavior, Banks told articles/special projects director Laura Brown: “Oh, I want her not to take herself too seriously….She’d need to know how to take a fierce picture but at the same time be able to eat fried chicken, have grease on her fingers, and be OK with getting photographed like that, too.”

Tyra Banks Angers Audience Members
While audience members eagerly waited for The Tyra Banks show to start, the could hear the supermodel behind the curtain laughing it up with staff backstage. It would be one thing if the group had to wait for a few minutes. But some are complaining that they were forced to wait for nearly 2 hours!!
To make matters worse, once Tyra decided to get to work, she walked out on stage and just began to read from script! No apology. No reasoning. No greeting for the room. People are now calling her a "phoney".
"You could hear her going on and on because she was standing right behind the stage curtain. She’s talking and talking. Meanwhile, you have the entire audience waiting almost two hours for
the taping to start.""She leaves us waiting, and everyone is sitting
there complaining, and then she comes out and doesn’t say a word about
it. She didn’t even say hello, she got right into her script. She acted so cold towards everyone. She’s a phony."
Tyra Banks Celebrates Vogue's All Black Issue
Tyra Banks along with other models, including Selita Elbanks, Iman Beverly Johnson and Veronica Webb, that she invited on the show take to the streets with black balloons to celebrate the success of Italian Vogue's "Black Issue." The magazine featured some of the great black models of our time and it was a huge success selling out worldwide. Now the question remains to be seen...did it make an actual difference? Will magazines finally start to feature more diverse models on a regular basis?

Tyra Banks Gets Waxed For Madame Tussauds
Awww.. this is the first time that I've seen something done from Madame Tussauds that isn't a perfect replica of the model. How utterly disappointing! In fact, this one is so off that I'm surprised they put it on display. What do you think about Tyra Banks' wax figure? It is currently on display at the museum's location in NYC.
