An Inside Look At Uma Thurman's Contract
Uma Thurman signed on for the new 'Eloise' movie, 'Eloise in Paris,' but production was halted when her production company filed a breach of contract lawsuit. The lawsuit is ongoing, but part of it included filing Uma's contract. It provides an interesting look into what an A-list star can include in their contract.
Here are some of what Uma required in her contract:
- A salary of $4.5 million
- First class air travel
- Luxury dressing room
- A minimum "three-bedroom hotel suite" and three cell phones to use for the duration of the production.
- No other cast member should be given "more favorable dressing facilities"
- Thurman should be allowed to purchase costumes and wigs from the movie at a 50 per cent reduction on cost price.
I'm guessing the three-bedroom suite and three cell phones were for her and her kids (or their nannies for while she was working)? And getting to buy the costumes and wigs at 50% off is SICK- lol.
Uma also got "veto power" over the screenplay, director, and co-stars as well as prohibiting the use of her likeness in merchandising deals (which sounds reasonable). You can read The Smoking Gun's report here.

Robert Pattinson Nervous About Sex Scenes With Uma Thurman
Starring in the 'Twilight' franchise may have made Robert Pattinson a huge star, but it apparently doesn't make him invulnerable to nerves on-set :) His movie with Uma Thurman, 'Bel Ami,' calls for some explicit sex scenes, but Robert said they were more disturbing than exciting.
"The sex scenes with Uma are kind of disturbing. Her character Madeleine kind of uses sex as a sort of weapon and my character thinks like an animal. There are a lot of sex scenes in this film, so I'm asking quite a lot of myself, and with lots of different people as well."
Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas also star in the movie, and Robert's character may sleep with them, too. Robert's character is an ambitious man who sleeps his way to the top, as I understand it.
After he's done filming 'Bel Ami,' Robert will be on hold while he waits to hear when 'Breaking Dawn' will start filming.
"It will be strange but it will be great just to be able to know what I'm doing. Not knowing when 'Breaking Dawn' is going to shoot – because it changes all the time – is a kind of burden, to have this thing where you don't know when it's going to happen.
"So you've got to organize everything in your life around that and that can be difficult."
As someone who likes to plan, I completely understand. The last I heard about 'Breaking Dawn,' they were still trying to decide if they should make it one film or two. With 'Eclipse' coming out this summer, they'd better hurry!
I'm curious about 'Bel Ami.' It may be a rental rather than a must-see in the theater, but the cast is pretty impressive. How about you?

Uma Thurman Picks Up Her Son From School
Uma Thurman was seen picking up her son, Levon Roan Thurman-Hawke, from school in New York City yesterday afternoon. What a cute little kid! Looks like his father, doesn't he?
The actress has been a busy bee lately. Expect LOTS of big screen time over the next year or so as Uma has 7 movies lined up. I have a feeling the one that everyone is waiting for is 'Kill Bill: Volume 3'. Talk about a cult following!!

Uma Thurman Reunites With Former Fiance
Last month, Uma Thurman called off her engagement to Arpad Busson. But these pictures were taken yesterday, so I'm guessing things are back on (at least the relationship, if not the engagement).
Uma and Arpad were caught kissing while out and about in New York City yesterday. And the notoriously private Uma doesn't even look upset about it!
The giddiness of love... :)
Now I should note that when the engagement was called off, the couple said they would "remain friends." It looks like more than friendship to me, but what do you think?

Uma Thurman Calls Off Her Engagement
I thought something sounded a little off with Uma Thurman's engagement to Aprad Busson when she talked about it, and today People announced that Uma has called off the engagement.
A reported friend of Uma's told People the engagement ended nearly two months ago. Arpad supposedly is "besides himself" because they couldn't work things out.
Uma's rep had no comment.
Well, if you're not ready to get married, then you shouldn't get married. I think it's good Uma was able to realize this rather than let herself get caught up in all the engagement and wedding drama only to divorce a few years later.
I wonder if she's a little gun-shy after her divorce?

Uma Thurman's Best On-Screen Kiss Was With Her Ex, Ethan Hawke
Uma Thurman said her best on-screen kiss was in the 1997 movie 'Gattaca,' co-starring her now ex-husband Ethan Hawke. And why was the kiss so great?
"The best kiss I ever had for a movie was with the guy I married, because I was really hot for him back then."
Uma said she still "loves" Ethan, in part because they have two kids together (Maya and Levon), although she's now engaged to Arpad Busson. But while Uma and Arpad may be engaged, she says she's in no hurry to get married.
I think it's great Uma can still appreciate Ethan as the father of her children, but the whole hesitation to get married makes me wonder... how about you?
