Uma Thurman always makes great movies and I’m sure the Accidental Husband will be no exception. It sounds really cute!

“New York firefighter Patrick Sullivan had no idea his seemingly idyllic life was about to go up in smoke – especially as the unwitting, second-hand recipient of advice from famed love expert and radio host Dr. Emma Lloyd. One day he is a happy, go-lucky guy looking forward to a life with his soon-to-be-bride. The next thing you know, his fiancée Sophia (Justina Machado) is seeking couples counseling on the radio from Dr. Lloyd. The no-nonsense, ever practical Dr. Lloyd questions Sophia’s concept of romantic love and advises her to break their engagement, which she swiftly does. But when Patrick and his computer-savvy neighbor decide to give Dr. Lloyd a taste of her own medicine and “accidentally” join them in holy matrimony – something that doesn’t go over too well with fiancée (played by Colin Firth) — it isn’t long before they learn that sometimes even an expert in love needs a second opinion.”

I’m such a sucker for romantic comedies Something about this sort of reminds me of the Truth About Cats And Dogs. Did any of you ever see that? Great movie with Uma and Jeneane Garofalo…wonder what ever happened to her?

SO happy to hear this. The jury only spent one day in deliberations so the verdict is already out…he’s been convicted! Uma Thurman’s stalker has been found guilty on the following counts:

“Jack Jordan, 37, was convicted of fourth-degree stalking and second degree aggravated harassment. Jordan was found not guilty of two charges of aggravated harassment, according to reports.”

Uma told the court,

“I was completely freaked out. It was like a nightmare. It was scary.”

Stalking charges are only 90 days in jail but harassment charges could keep Jordan in jail for up to a year.

Uma must be so relieved! Still…that doesn’t seem like a very long time for him to be in jail. If I had a stalker I’d want him locked away for as long as possible, wouldn’t you?

It must feel really good to be a part of something you feel will make a difference to society. Uma Thurman is urging all parents to sit down with their children to watch The Life Before Her Eyes as she thinks it will provide more insight into their children’s lives.

“I feel really certain that probably, in a few hundred cases, a parent is gonna watch this movie with their 12 year old, 14 year old, 17 year old, and, in the conversation they have afterwards, they’re going to learn something about their kid that they never knew. It’s gonna enlighten and benefit them. The conversation is gonna blow their mind about what that kid has been holding onto like being bullied or how maybe they went through an abortion or how maybe they had a tough boyfriend who treated them disrespectfully.
“If it’s your son, it might be how they had a girl they dated and an abortion happened to them. Who knows? The movie deals with some real things that cause real feelings and that’s a pleasure to have that out there whether it be on the screen or the video box. At some time I’d like to show my kids the film.”

How many times have we heard this? Is it a requirement in Hollywood to have an isolated childhood with a beastly face? Not that I believe her, but Uma Thurman is the latest celebrity to “confess” that she wasn’t the prettiest as a young child. Although to be honest, I can see Uma being too lanky as a kid because she is so tall as a woman.

“I had baby fat and a big nose, big lips and big eyes that looked like they were taped to the side of my head. I was tall, really young and I had a funny name. I had not grown into my features. I was just trying to make it from history to English class and still feel good.

“I didn’t feel doors were going to fly open for me for being cute, so I worked hard at everything.”
