Whoopi Goldberg Mistakes Ian McKellen For Another Famous Wizard
Sir Ian McKellen was on The View today to talk about his latest project. And according to PopEater, Whoopi Goldberg had some difficulty keeping her Harry Potter stars straight from her Lord of the Rings cast. He first got into a little heated discussion with Elisabeth Hasselbeck about flu shots and government health care. Then Whoopi asked:
"Are you coming back in 'Harry Potter'?" The question silenced the audience and confused the rest of the panel.
"Well, if I were Michael Gambon, I might. But I don't play Dumbledore," he explained. "I play in 'Lord of the Rings.'"
She's only human and I'm sure it was an honest mistake but on a show of this caliber, wouldn't you think it's wise to be "in the know" on your guest's credits? That must've been awkward.
For those Lord of the Rings fans, Ian has said that he has read the script for The Hobbit already and loves it!

Whoopi Goldbert Has Had 50 Lovers
Whoopi Goldberg has been around the block a time or two...she recently admitted on The View that she's had 50 lovers in her lifetime!
She flashed the number of lovers she has had in her life — a feat that
required using both of her hands and her feet. Turns out she's had
"about 50. "It doesn't
matter how many people you've been with in your life," Whoopi said,
throwing it to commercial. "It's who you stick with."
That sounds like a lot, and I guess I should be shocked, but I'm really not. In this day and age, what would be a so-called normal number of lovers?
Whoopi Goldberg Says Patrick Swayze Is The Man Behind Her Oscar
Ok, Whoopi Goldberg is just great at making me feel all emotional. Seriously. When Patrick Swayze's cancer news came up on The View Whoopie started talking about how he is the reason that she won an Oscar for Ghost. She said that when she won her award, really the only person she wanted to thank was Patrick.
The 52-year-old actress-comedian said Swayze persuaded director Jerry Zucker to cast her in the film amid "some resistance." According to Goldberg, Swayze said, "I'm not making this movie unless you put Whoopi Goldberg in there."
Whoopi hasn't spoken to Patrick since his diagnosis but plans to get in touch,
"We want you to feel better - ” we'll talk soon, I hope."
Patrick is so lucky to have the support of so many people and to be able to have the best doctors treating him. I really hope he is able to beat this.

The ladies of The View announced today that Whoopi Goldberg will be their new co-host.
Whoopi offered up this sound bite on her new job:
"I'm looking forward to the hot topics. The thing I'm looking forwards to the least is getting in between everyone talking at one time."
I hope it's interesting! No one can top the scandals of Rosie O'Donnell though.
