13th Annual Hollywood Film Festival Awards Gala
Last night was the 13th Annual Hollywood Film Fest Awards Gala, held in Beverly Hills.
Hilary Swank & Robert De Niro were both honored for their bodies of work, simply called the "Actress Award" and the "Actor Award". In the "Breakthrough" category, actress Gabourey Sidibe was honored for Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire. I'm looking forward to seeing the performances in that movie. I'm sure it's going to be very hard to watch, but I keep hearing great things about it.

Zooey Deschanel And Ben Gibbard Married This Weekend
Zooey Deschanel is officially married. The ‘(500) Days of Summer’ actress tied the knot with Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard at a private ceremony near Seattle, Washington, on Saturday.
Only close friends – including her ‘Your Highness’ co-stars James Franco and Natalie Portman - and family were present and the couple are thought to have now flown out to their secret honeymoon location.
The couple got engaged in December 2008 after dating for nearly a year, with a friend saying at the time: "Zooey was swept off her feet, and Ben is so excited."
I'm so happy for Zooey! I LOVE her singing voice and always enjoy her on the red carpet.

Zooey Deschanel Is Taking Ballet To Get Wedding Fit
Zooey Deschanel is taking ballet classes to slim down before her wedding.
The ‘(500) Days of Summer’ actress, who is engaged to Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard, is determined to look her best when she ties the knot and has embarked on a new exercise regime.
A source told the New York Post newspaper:
"Zooey has been taking classes at Pure Barre in Los Angeles to prepare for the wedding. She has been doing workouts which are based on ballet barre work back to back.
“She'll take a class, wait 15 minutes, and then take another."
It is believed Zooey is planning to wed Ben this autumn.
Any adults on INO take ballet? I know one person who is a ballerina but that's her full time job. She doesn't really do it for exercise - it's her livelihood.

Zooey Deschanel Is Another Celeb Who Doesn't Believe In Marriage
SO many celebrities have come out to say that they don't believe in marriage. Zooey Deschanel is the next to voice her opinion saying that marriage isn't really what love is all about.
People don't have to get married anymore. We're a generation that has progressed in many
ways, from the ones before us. I think that the idea of romantic love
is about marriage is over. Now all love is romantic love. Getting
married is not a necessity, and staying with one person is not a
necessity. You have to find out what it is for yourself, and not be a
product of what you've been taught, but a product of what you discover."

Zooey Deschanel For Domino Magazine's February 2009 Edition
Actress and musician Zooey Deschanel is featured in domino’s upcoming February issue—hitting stands January 13. The cover girl, newly engaged to Ben Gibbard (front man for Death Cab for Cutie), can also be seen in outtakes from the shoot on www.dominomag.com/go/zooey
Zooey opened up about having one room in her house that she can be creative. When Deschanel’s music hobby threatened to take over her whole
house, she enlisted the help of decorator and former domino cover girl
Ruthie Sommers to create a dedicated spot for her craft.
“It’s like a present to myself to have a room solely devoted to creative endeavors.”
I WISH I had a space like that. Wait until she has two kids - she'll be singing a different tune then. :)
The duo transformed a spare room into an elegant salon: creating a soundproof space that successfully displays her instruments and shows off Deschanel’s “retro-Hollywood-meets-Sgt. Pepper” style.
“It’s a nice, quiet place to write music, do a bit of paperwork and read,” says Deschanel of her new space, “It’s much easier when I have a place to stash things.”
And she already is getting a lot of use out of it:
“I’m working with folk singer M. Ward on my second She & Him record. And in my latest movie—Yes Man with Jim Carrey—I collaborated on the soundtrack with my fictional band, which in real life is called Von Iva.”

Zooey Deschanel Is Engaged
...according to In Touch, at least. Actress Zooey Deschanel and her boyfriend, musician Ben Gibbard, reportedly became engaged the week of December 20. The couple have been dating for almost a year. A friend says Zooey is "so excited." An engagement certainly gives the holidays some extra sparkle!
It seems so fast, though! I guess you know when you're in love. How long do you think people should date before making the decision to marry?
