Here's the thing, suicide is not usually a rash decision. Most suicidal people are that way for a long time. Something may trigger the decision to finally do it, but the general feeling that life sucks and to simply be tired of living can go on for a while. As for the friends and family that everybody is supposed to consider to keep going. Much of the time friends and family are busy with their own lives and have no understanding, concern or patience for you and why you feel your life is terrible - especially if you have things that all of society tells you are supposed to make you happy. Friends only like you when you're smiling. Then when you off yourself they act surprised and put upon. If they cared so much, why didn't they help? Because ALL people are selfish, not just the ones who take matters into their own hands. People don't make time for other people's pain - they are busy with their own. So all of us are alone in it. Add depression and despair to the mix and you just might get a suicide. If you don't understand, then just shut up, give your condolences and move on. Otherwise don't judge.
