I showed this picture to my Dad who is 72 and British, even though we don’t live there. He’s never heard of Kate Moss. When I told him she’s one of the world’s top models and supposedly a fashion icon, he couldn’t believe it. To quote him,”She’s got horrible, skinny legs and is flat-chested”. Sure he was young when a more voluptuous frame was considered attractive in women, but he’s right. We women get told what is fashionable and who is fashionable in the various forms of media, and we’re supposed to follow like lemmings. Sure Moss scrubs up well in a photo shoot, but wouldn’t we all with all the make-up, hair-dressing, styling - and of course, every model’s best friend, Photoshop. I then told him she was (is?) a cocaine addict, and made more money after being featured in a British tabloid having a snort, than she did before. He said the world’s gone mad. I think he has a point.

I can see how some women and girls can find him attractive and handsome. I would have to reach for some water with ice after a sugar attack of sweet cotton candy topped with supersweet sugary syrup. I guess what I am trying to say he seems to look too handsome. That is always a red flag , at least for me.

Nor do I Otis now that the plot has been revealed all over the Internet. I loved the TV series, but don’t think I’ll be seeing this film. It’s like when you read a great book, see the film afterwards and it really disappoints. Not being American, I prefer what they would call foreign films anyway, especially British and French. And if my guy doesn’t want to see it, I go by myself. Each to their own.
