Whenever I do a contest, they send me one of whatever they give away. So I got the Hungry Girl cookbook and am IN LOVE with all the recipes. You should really consider getting it. She even has a website which I don't know the URL of at the moment.

just wanted to throw it out there.

;)

Thanks, I will check into it. I get a lot of my healthy recipes from magazines like Cooking Light.

I have a great Brown Rice Recipe: Ingredients: 1 Bell Pepper 1 Jalapeno (optional) 1 Onion 1 Can of Diced Tomatoes (14 oz) 1 Can of Low Sodium Chicken Stock 2 Cups Brown Rice ( I always buy the 10 minute Brown Rice) Directions: Cup Bell Pepper, Jalapeno, and Onion, toss into skillet until slightly softened. Add Diced tomatoes and mix with veggies. Add Chicken Stock and bring to a boil. Add Brown Rice, bring to a boil and reduce heat to low and cover. You're basically just cooking the Brown Rice per instructions on the box. Super simple and yet full of flavor and its HEALTHY lol

I got the cookbook from the library after reading about it on this website - ADDICTED to it! I went right out and bought the cookbook! Even my boyfriend likes it! They had the author on the local morning news and she was great - could totally relate to her! I think this one will get quite a bit of use!

I think as long as it is REAL food - it always has health properties. Thats how I rationalize things anyway. Cheese=calcium Rib Eye=protein Nuts=omegas Nachos=see cheese and so on. Processed stuff is the killer for your insides and out! I make whole wheat pizza dough and top with garlic-y tomato sauce and skim mozzeralla cheese BAKE and then top with arugila. It is sooo good and I think it is pretty healthy. for pizza anyway.
