Terrence Howard Is The Ultimate Overprotective Dad
Terrence Howard was so upset when his daughter started dating a classmate he doesn't approve of, that he threatened to kill the poor guy!
"She's supposedly in love with some guy. I made her break up with him
and I've threatened to kill him. I was like, you picked a green fruit
from the tree that's far from ripe."
He gets his daughter to behave by threatening to cut her out of her inheritance.
"I've set a lot of things aside for you, but those things are only yours as long as you're obedient to me."
And he has more plans to keep her away from the guy he doesn't like.
"She's OK now. Though, I'm sure he's still kind of her boyfriend. This
summer I'll take her off to another country where her phone won't work,
and he'll start dating someone else."
Who can relate? Overprotective dads are tough to deal with!

The only reason he acts that way is because he is a low down dog. Terence sleeps around with lots of women he knows a dog when he sees a dog. He is a contolling freak, his daughter will rebel, no human can be control that way. Parents like this makes children do things behind their back, and I mean not good things.
GOOD. FOR. HIM. More people should parent like this. I cant stand seeing little girls with their 'boyfriends' making out all over the place. Its just a total distraction from accomplishing big things. Girls get so wrapped up in boys and what they will wear to school, sex etc and it ALL shows. I am 27 and more then half of 16 year old girls look OLDER then me. Let them be children, set rules and boundries, I mean the 8th grade illiteracy level is at almost 50%. That means 50% of 8th graders CANT READ but I bet they know how to surf the internet, text message and have sex. Awesome. Parents need to get back to being parents, actions of teenagers these days are UNACCEPTABLE.

WOW.......that is Harsh.....she will totally rebel....my mother was like that and I ended up doing stuff that would just piss her off more....I just did not care about what she would say.......he better be ready for it when it hits

I bet half the stuff he says is just for laughs. He amuses me. On a side note, my daddy used to answer the door and his hunting rifle would be propped up on the wall right next to the door. I was horrified then but looking it back....it was really funny.

i can't imagine dealing with a father like that. i would go insane. i think he's going a bit over the top. nobody wants to see their daughter grow up, and chances are they wont approve of the boy - but death threats and forcing them to break up and foreign countries? that is way too over-the-top for me.
Anyone know how old his daughter is? I really can't say any opinion until that. I mean if she's 12-16 fine. But if she's 16-18, he seriously needs to let GO a little.
I'd like to think he was only joking -- and about some things, he probably is -- but his underlying desire to control EVERYTHING and use of threats for disobedience to any of his rules disturb me somewhat. My father was from the school of thought that just because he was stronger than I that made him right about everything. It didn't make him right then, and it doesn't now. In my 40s, the overriding emotion I have for my father is still that of fear, despite my living several hours away.

That soo sounds like something my husband wants to do when our daughter gets older. My dad was super strict and I always found ways around that. So sometimes a tight leash isn't such a good thing. Honesty is always better. JMO.

Ok, I'm going to be in the minority here, way in the minority, but I don't see anything wrong with cleaning with a baby wipe. What's wrong with staying fresh and feeling a bit cleaner?Absolutely nothing. I was surprised to hear that I wasn't the only one who felt that way when I read his comment in a previous interview. As far as his daughter goes, death threats, yeah not cool, but I don't think he's serious. My father said the same thing never did it but it was to let the prospects know that there is no game playing allowed.
I agree, i think keeping clean is normal. I always wash after using the bathroom, i hate the feeling of not washing...Yuck.

I hope he was joking but he's crazy so probably not.
My dad was overprotective until I was 18, I wasn't allowed out later than 9 or 10 if I was lucky. My mom was my partner in crime and would let me go out and do things so long as she knew where I was and made sure she could get in touch with me. I think I had a good mix.
As far as my dad was concerned boys were a no no.
***I have to add that if 8th graders can't read they can't text or go on the internet, you need to be able to read and spell to do those things.

Im all for proctecting your child from jerks and @ssholes but he seems like he take things to an extreme. I really feel for her. I had a overprotective parent and at times it was too much! Teens need some sort space to be themselves or else they will lash out sooner or later.

If you know anything about Terrence it's that he always gives "out there" answers in interviews. It's just his thing. I think these answers are hilarious but probably only partially true.
