Is Anyone Trying To Lose Weight?

Is anyone else out there trying to lose weight? I started trying to lose weight right after Christmas. I have lost 30 lbs, but would at like to lose at least 10 more. I went on vacation in mid April and am still trying to get back on track to lose my last bit of it. I set myself up an online weight loss ticker. Has anyone else ever done that? And if so did it help?

I feel like I am always trying to lose weight - except when I fall off and forget about the whole thing. Then it's me on overdrive trying to make up for what I gained.

I find that I can gain and lose 5 pounds in a matter of days. But it's the LAST 5 that won't come off no matter what I do.

Once again on the right track - getting serious about not snacking and drinking only diet snapple and water. even when I get my starbuck BTL, I ask for three pumps only of sugar and dilute the thing once I am half way through by refilling with water.

It helps - but I wish I would just get over the whole damn thing...

Have you heard of SparkPeople.com? I tried them last year, 2 weeks after my husband left for his 6month deployment. By the time he came home, I lost 20lbs! It's a free website. They give you exercise ideas on what you can do for the day. People share recipes. You even can keep track of what you ate that day and learn how many calories and fat is in an item. I've gained 5lbs back, but I think it's not a bad thing since the dizzy spells stopped. After 4 kids, my body doesn't want to be such a skinny minny anymore but happier at a lighter/healthier frame. My husband bought me the Wii Fit the day it came out and you can keep track of your weight there, plus the exercises on it really burn if you do it properly. As far as the ticker, I used one as well to remind me how many more pounds I have left to look sexy for the hubby when he gets home. lol I think it was a good motivator. :) Hope it works out for you!

I've lost 20 lbs since September and I don't really need to lose anymore. My weight loss regime is a little intense and consists of working out 5 times a week (normally 3 gym days and 2 days of soccer). Gym days consist of roughly 30 minutes of cardio and then free weights. I also count calories using a free site called thedailyplate.com. It lets you set a weight loss goal and then tells you how many calories you can eat in a day. You essentially enter into the site everything you eat in a day and it tells you the calories fat, fiber, protein, sugar, and carbs that you've eaten and how many more of each that you can eat. You can also add in the exercise you did during the day. It also lets you add in recipes so that you don't have to enter all the ingredients each time. I allow myself one cheat day a week. It can be slightly time consuming, but if you use it for a week you will at least get a sense of what makes up your typical diet and what your downfalls may be.

Wow, congrats to everyone who has lost weight!  Amy a ticker is a good idea...a lot of people have success with weight loss when they blog about it.  A friend of mine has lost over 100 lbs that way.  It's good if you're truly honest with your audience because it keeps you accountable.

Wow, I love the idea of blogging your journey! Any chance you might post the link to your friend's blog? I may think about doing this, actually... I've got about 75 pounds to lose, and I am definitely one of those people who gets motivated for a month and then loses the motivation. Encouragement and accountability to others would definitely help! Hmm. P.S. I found your blog through your profile... I think you have got a new reader! :)

I set my New Years goal to lose weight for bikini season (which officially commensed this past weekend!) and supassed my goal! I was hoping to lose 20 lbs and lost 32 and counting. I did it all by purely counting calories and fat content. It has now turned into a lifestyle change, although a bit difficult to keep up now that I have attained my goal. I have gotten my boyfriend and friends and family all eating the "katie" diet and can hopefully keep this up for a wedding next fall!

I have been doing weight watchers. I did it back in 2005 and lost about 35 pounds. Currently I am about 2 to 5 pounds over my goal weight. It is the only plan that I found works for me. I also now go to the gym 4 to 5 times a week. I love it. I just had to take a week off while dog sitting and can't wait to get in there tomorrow. Have support from friends and family really helps.
