I'm just saying this so you 'non-pet'owners get some prespective. Cats are not less maintenance. Mine scream at me all day and make me do things I don't really have time to do. I am punished by sleep deprivation if I do not obey. Occasionally they will leave me a 'surprise' if I have been particularily bad. I'm just saying....they have some freaky mind control and can honestly make you feel very dumb with only a glance. If my cats could actually speak english I would be forced to quit my job and serve them 24 hours a day. Thank Goodness for cat naps....It's my only chance of escaping the house.
Just say'n.

I am sooooooo a dog lover. Currently there are 8 lil Staffordshire Bull Terrier puppies running, pooing, peeing, biting, yelping, fighting, etc. around our home. Their mother, Bridget, is such a loveable dog. She is always there to lend a sympathetic ear and to offer a big hug and sometimes a lick on the cheek. Cats, on the other hand, are boring and look at you like you are crazy if you go to hug them; but they are ok creatures.

I'd love to have a cat or 2 (or 5), but my boyfriend don't like them...
It upsets me because I'm used to living with cats around (always had a cat in the house since I was a little girl)
But I believe that by asking again and again and again, I might get one someday !

I hope you can get one. Good Luck!!!!!

Grandma591 I actually love all animals. We as human beings should know how to treat, love and respect our animals(our pets), they are a gift from GOD. I have always wanted an Irish Setter Red Cocker Spaniel. We had one when I was younger, we called him Timmy. We had him with us for so long, he actually became a full fledged member of our family! He loved us unconditionally as we did him! He lived to a very old age, where it became apparent that he was dying. The vet said we could keep alive a little longer, but my brother (who took him to the vet-made the decision), we had timmy put out of all his pain and suffering. I think, in his own way, Timmy knew what we were doing was his own good. He went very peacefully. that was oh so many, many years ago. But the pain is still there, but each time I think of him all I see is Timmy running around chasing us kids, laying at our feet, and laying with my brother at bedtime. Iknow this will sound sound kind of sappy? to some people, to go on about an animal this way, but he was a gift to our family from GOD.

Duh.... of course I love dogs! (Hint: look at my profile picture! :) ) I was a cat person before, but I had never been owned by a dog before! My mom had gotten bitten by a German Shepard when she was 5, and had to have 13 stitches on her cheek! So naturally, we didn't have dogs, just cats. I shouldn't say I love all dogs, I'm more of a small dog person, and I absolutly despise Pit Bulls, and any dogs bred to be viscous! But, Gotta Love my PUG and BOSTON TERRIER!!!

I kind of know how your your mom felt. When I was the same age, I was walking home from school with my friend and she was attacked by a big boxer. I never saw my friend again after that, I don't know what happened to her. But I still am uneasy around stray dogs when I am out walking by myself.

That's scary! Was it a bad attack? Do you think maybe she died?

I hate dogs! They annoy me like crazy. They jump all over you, bark too loudly, they stink, you have to bathe them, pick up their crap, walk them daily, and who knows what else. I love cats. I practically am one myself.

Dog all the way! I had a small dog for 14 years we had to put to sleep last November. Very sad! But, now my boyfriend came home with a bigger dog (German Short Hair). I wasn't too happy until I realized he is the biggest wuss on earth! Very cuddily too!! (My boyfriend wasn't too happy - he isn't going to make the best hunting dog!) Love him to death and dont know what I would do without my "kid".

I don't have pets, but if I had to choose, I'd probably go with cat. Less maintenance.

I like small dogs, but at the moment we have 2 cats. We kind of inherited them from our daughter.
