Producers Want Britney Spears To Play Sandy On Broadway's Grease

It's just a request at this moment. No one has confirmed that Britney Spears would even consider the role, but producers of Grease are putting it out there. They want Britney to play Miss Sandra D in their Broadway play. The team is recasting in July and thinks Brit Brit would be the perfect fit.

They’re recasting the roles in July and they thought that Britney looked like a Sandy. She would be terrific."

What do you think? Can Britney do Sandy justice?

that might actually be brilliant for her career. But can she handle the schedule? Broadway is hard work, with unforgiving schedules and work ethic and it is a daily, hard grind. But it would prove her to the industry if she could hack it. Interesting.

Passerby Passerby said:

Yes, that would be very interesting to see if Brit could be put to the test!

it would be interesting to see. I think she needs a routine schedule to help her get her head back in the game.

Now, do you guys think it's the meds she's on, or recently come off ... the weight issues? I have never ever in my life, saw anyone who spends as much time at the gym that she does... and doesn't appear to be dropping the weight.???

I don't know if it's due to her being on How I met your Mother, and them making her look skinny, but she looks like she is gaining? I know muscle weights for than fat and all that, but her face, neck, and arms are looking thick.

ok ... sorry, but i keep seeing it in pictures and had to say something

Actually, I think it would be a really good fit for her. She would have a lot of structure in her schedule, it would probably get her in great shape and I actually think Sandy would be a good role for her. I can her her singing those songs. Hopelessly Devoted to You? Hell yeah, I can hear it.

Just because she has greasy hair and face - does not mean she is fit to play in Grease!

She is looking thicker. But I always wonder what she *really* looks like. The camera adds so much weight.

She would be great as Sandy, and the schedule would probably be great for her!

Passerby Passerby said:

She does not have the talent to be anywhere near a Broadway stage. No way could she handle it, she's a selfish narcissist, cannot sing, cannot act, and would be far too much trouble to deal with. Anyone who would even consider her for this kind of a role must be as moronic as she is.

Passerby Passerby said:

Damn right, Britney's career is dead and will not be revived. Nobody gives a shit about her anymore.

If she puts her mind to it I am sure she can do anything. She's an entertainer! She's been dancing for years so why shouldn't she be able to play Sandy?

Weight wise I am afraid it comes from her tablets. Yes, you can spend everyday in the gym and still put on weight because there is some medication out there that just does that as a side effect. I've been there and I can totally feel for Britney how frustrating it is when you eat healthy and do everything you can in the gym and still put on weight because of your stupid medication.

You can't gain weight if you don't put it in your mouth. So, let's think about Brit's dance record of recent. First, her last tour where she damaged her leg, then there was that VMA show and the House of Jazz tour thing where she not only couldn't dance or lip-sync but couldn't even keep her clothing on. When was the last time she actually sang anything live? Actually, has she EVER sang anything live? You all must be living in some alternate universe if you think she could do Broadway.

Passerby Passerby said:

what is it about this girl that people want to keep working with her? i don't get it. let's be honest, the girl has no talent whatsoever and i never thought she was pretty. she had a nice body and can dance. she was/is a commecial product gone bad. just look at her, she's a mess. she needs to focus on her kids and her well being, live within her means and scrap the whole comeback thing cuz it's not working!

Passerby Passerby said:

Actually, she was absolutely gorgeous at one point AND one of the hardest workers in show business. It seems she got involved with people who didn't influence her in the best way, got a taste of being on her own and handling her own affairs and it turned out she was really bad at both. The girl has been in show business since before most of us begin to learn about ourselves and develop who we are as people. I think that if she has the right people around her again (sad that that's what it would take) she can turn herself around once again. I don't think she'll ever be what she once was again, though.

I agree, Passerby. She is being allowed to destroy herself. Which is easy, because after living her whole life as a tool of the entertainment industry, her sanity has seen better days. The meds are not helping. Who are her people? Matt Stone, Trey Parker, and that crying guy on YouTube...

Britney would be a disaster on Broadway. Their schedual is probably the most grueling in showbiz. Also Britney can't sing. The few times I've heard sing live she sounded awful. I assume that Broadway frowns on lipsynching. Even if she did try to sing live, I don't think her voice could handle it. 99% percent of her career has been lipsynching and studio magic. People like Celine Dion and Mariah Carey really take care of their voices and have done so for years. I doubt Britney does this and I wouldn't be surprised if she tried singing on Broadway she would develop vocal problems.

I can't stand delusional people who live vicariously through has-been entertainment figures. Britney's popstar career is gone. The only employment offers she's getting now is from failing ventures looking to cash in on the publicity. She's a poor man's Paris Hilton.

girlfriend girlfriend said:

hey y'all why don't we stop being so pessamistic...i'm sure if it was something brit really had a passion for doing she could do it...she has been in the business so long. And the schedule would help get her back on track. i think it would be a lot of work for her but it would do her a ton of good. sure she's seen better days but showing the world that she still has it in her could even help her get her boys back..which is what she wants more than anything in the world.

I believe Britney would be wonderful on Broadway. She has an amazing stage presence and knows well the schedule a Broadway show requires. (Britney was the understudy in an off-Broadway role in "Ruthless" with Natalie Portman.)

I doubt she would take the role but I would certainly get in line for tickets if she did : )

Passerby Passerby said:

No, no, NO!!!!! She is too unstable to be on any stage. She needs to get herself together mentally and it's not going to take months for her to be strong enough to do any entertaining.

Passerby Passerby said:

LOL Leslie - did you find Sandy to be a "deep" character?

Passerby Passerby said:

She is more of a Rizzo if you ask me.
Just because she is blonde doesn't mean she is a shoe in for Sandy.

Passerby Passerby said:

She would probably mess it up with her fake southern accent rather than the proper Australian accent Sandy has.

Passerby Passerby said:

Hold the phone, she's been practicing at least a BRITISH accent since she met that Adnan idiot, right? It was ridiculous, but it wasn't horrible.
