POSTED BY artgecko, Jul 21, 2008 AT 11:29 amThe move is over, now just to the unpacking (oh and getting used to the sounds of the planes and sonic booms again!)
We've got our bedroom, living room, and kitchen unpacked... now we just have to finish the guest room and the kidlets room. Thankfully kidlet is visiting my parents for the month of July, so we have a little more time for his room :)
Also, some advise for anyone moving on base... remember the speed limits!! The one around our neighborhood is 15mph, and people still go flying around these roads!
Hope to update more later!

POSTED BY artgecko, Jul 10, 2008 AT 03:02 amIt's getting down to the crunch time now. Hubby's going away party is today, the movers start packing MONDAY (YIKES!) and we (me and the kitties) go sign the lease in one week. Hubby will be joining us the next day-- hopefully with our furniture -- they *think* they'll be able to door to door move no problem (seems too me I've heard that one before)
Anyway, if you don't see me on here a lot for the next week or two, that's what's going on!

POSTED BY artgecko, Jun 10, 2008 AT 05:18 pmOk, so now I'm realizing, we're moving a month from *THIS* Friday. Our house down here is still on the market, so we'll be living on base. Surprisingly enough, we've never lived on base!
I know that things have changed on base since we've been married, ie the housing at Robins, AFB is now contracted out, so we're *basically* going to be renting. But (have to whine for a moment) I don't wanna live on base!!!!
I have copies of the orders, the power of attorney, everything for the partial DITY (do it yourself) move separated, the cats' and dog's vaccination records, and feel pretty much on track, but there is still the nagging feeling that I'm missing something. It's driving me mad!

POSTED BY artgecko, Jun 7, 2008 AT 06:40 pmForgot to mention that we are parents of a rising 4th grader (boy) who was introduced early on to moving-- we PCS'd when he was 11 days old!!!

POSTED BY artgecko, Jun 7, 2008 AT 06:35 pmJust wanted so say hey to any other military families out there!
I'm Kath, and my hubby is career Air Force. He's been in for 18.5 years, and we're getting ready to do our every 3 year move (again!)
I actually can't wait for this move, as we're going back to our previous duty station again-- Robins, AFB, GA. Right now we're at Tyndall, AFB, FL--I'm ready to get out Spring Break Central (Panama City, FL)
Anyway, hope to see more members soon!
