Fun Activities with Kids

Hey there,
I've got two boys (as you can see from the pic!) who are 8 and 11. Does anyone else out there have kids around this age? I'm trying to come up with fun things for them to do this summer and wondered if you all had some ideas. My 11 year old will be 12 soon so finding something to entertain a pre-teen is becoming hard!
Thanks in advance for your advice!

Your boys are so handsome!!! THe older one looks just like you! As for doing things with them, have you considered signing them up in day camps? they have so many different ones these days, with every kind of interest. I think that would be the most enjoyable thing for boys to do. Get them involved in something they really like doing and have the pleasure of meeting new friends in the process. Otherwise, take them to the amusement park, swimming pool, visits to museums, etc.
Aww, thanks Riviera! Everyone says my oldest, Kyle, looks like me but sometimes he doesn't like to hear that. HA! Thanks for your suggestions too, I appreciate it! I just signed Evan up for a Science and Fun camp at our high school and I'm looking into the swim team for him as well. He's the easy one, he loves doing anything and everything! It seems like Kyle is hardest to please and he already just wants to do lots of things with his friends. :) Can't wait till he's a teenager!
What handsome young men! I would do mini day trips. Check out a science museum. Go to a sporting event. Most local counties have tons of day camps.
Thanks xy mom! I think they are pretty handsome too! ;) I just enrolled Evan, the 8 year old, in a science and fun camp at our high school. I know he will love it! Still looking for things for my 11 year old to do. His problem is he'd rather stay home playing video games then do anything else!
