One of my fashion writers had the chance to peek into the stores and accessories that have taken Katy Perry from trendy to trendsetter. Here is Elyn's review:

By now most people have heard of Katy Perry, the super-hot singer/songwriter/musician currently co-headlining the Warped Tour, who's single hit I Kissed a Girl is #1 on iTunes and the Billboard Hot 100 and whose fantastically fun new album One of the Boys is this summers break out hit ... oh, and lets not forget the amazing shout-out she got from Madonna live on the radio!
But what most people don't know about Katy is how cool her style is! With her Lolita meets Joan Jett stylish mix of vintage & sunburst colors she's setting new trends daily & I wanted to let INO readers in on her secrets, so I found her favorite spots to shop:
First up is Pop Killer, where all the cute Japanese girls & true Harijuku lovers shop in LA. It's filled with cool vintage pieces, interesting accessories -- their 'brick' old-school cell phone bag is an absolute must-have! -- &, best of all it's open until midnight!
Next on her go-to list is Shareens Vintage which has racks of amazing one-of-a -kind vintage and re-worked dresses ... & to keep shoppers focused, there are no men allowed! If you're in LA you MUST check it out ... and, unlike most vintage stores, you CAN purchase online via their brand new eBay store (go their website which links you directly)!!!
And her final insider tip is Coquette. As Katy told MySpace,
"This is where I come when I need something that's going to blow everyone away... It's where all the stars go to get styled."
And she's right! Everyone from the Olsen's to P. Diddy have been seen in their vintage couture outfits. I don't get it. Everyone who copies a style from like 50 years ago (copying every tiny details) is "so stylish" and "such an icon." Why? Then every woman from the 19whatevers was a huge icon. That may look great in a photoshoot but I don't see anyone wearing clothes like that in real life.
I know what you mean! But Katy Perry actually does dress like this everyday! She's been dressing her own eccentric way everyday of Van's Warped Tour. And she sticks out so much everyday at that place. It's ridiculous but so cute everyday!

i thought it was zooey too! yeah, retro style is to costumely it only really works on entertainers. everyone else (& well certain celebrities) looks like they're trying to hard.
BTW- this girl annoys me. i only heard about/saw her AFTER i heard THAT song which is maddening. every 10 years or so someone (A GIRL) comes out with a song about hitting with a girl. some songs/songwriters are better than others. all i can say is if i where a full blown lesbian (read between the lines) i would be really bothered by this.

I think I just totally reject this chick because P.H. takes total credit for shoving her down our throats and making her popular. I find that anyone he promotes, I tend to stay far away from. Maybe that's why I can't stand Amy Winehouse? I don't know what it is..he just rubs me the wrong way. And I like the first I Kissed A Girl song better. :)
I absolutely adore Katy Perry, her music , her style , just everyrthing about her shes got a great sense of humor aswell

I personally like this style of clothing. I think it compliments a women's figure better by giving a more defined waist line than low rise jeans now. I've slowly been trying to ween myself off of the low rise jeans and finding nice summer skirts that are a bit more figure flattering.

I really like "I Kissed A Girl". It has such a great, toe tapping beat. The lyrics are fun, too. Her "Ur So Gay" song is pretty funny. She's having fun with her music and it's something that's lacking in today's music industry. I hope she continues on with her success and wish her the best of luck.
I wish I could pull wearing those clothes off.....but I never could.

HEY! i ;love katy Perry but i was looking for a listing of some british high street shops that might sell simillar clothes as she is wearing on the cover of 'one of the boys'! does any one know were i can get that info from?

Just for you to know who you're reaing, i'm 16, French and i sortof dres vintage and all, in Paris there are loads of secondhand stylish shops and all, but i would do ANYTHING to find that dress that katy perry wears during her wedding in the clip waking up in vegas, the white dress with a playing card in front. WOW!
If anyone knows where I can find it please warn me!!
