It's Friday night and I have a little non-gossip info to pass along.
I twitter. And on occasion, I hear something that is really exciting or wonderful or ground breaking on my feed. Today it was something that made me tear up and I wanted to pass it along to any reader who needs a reminder to stay in the moment with their children.
I always say, "I can't wait for them to..." or "When they get older I will be able to..." even though I know I shouldn't. This 2 minute clip is just another reminder for me to enjoy each day to its fullest.
The audio file shows the different sounds a child makes from 0 to teen. The man who created it was Tony Schwartz. The child was his daughter.

I can only think of my own children when I hear this. It is so true, we need to live in the moment. Our children grow so fast! I have been slacking on videos of my little ones and finally got some new tapes to record on tonight so I can catch up with them! Thanks for this post.
Thank you for this, Vera. I have a 23 year old and a 16 year old and every day wonder where the time went. This really choked me up. Gee, what does my own mom think? It's been a while since I've been 16!
That was sobering - and a little terrifying! ; ) I can't believe how fast my daughter is growing up... good find, Vera!
Awww! this reminded me of some recordings that my mum keeps of me and my brother singing and generally being goofy with my grandpa. That's something I'd wanna do with my kids when I have them.
It says the child was his daughter... Did she pass away? I can't even bring myself to listen until I know...
Lizzy's Blog i have a tape recording of my daughter....the most sweetest voice (even today) i have to look for her fischer price tape recorder...i think the tape is still in there
That was sweet!
Thank you so much for sharing that. I love it!
