Forget about the rumors that Tom Cruise is no longer as marketable as he once was. Today it is being reported that the actor is set to become a superhero based on the comic book classic, Sleeper.
The movie will be adapted from the DC Comics/Wildstorm comic book which centres on a spy whose fusion with an alien artifact makes him immune to pain.

I thought he didn't believe in Superheroes because of Scientology. Isn't that why he wouldn't let Katie do Batman? I guess if the paycheck this BIG enough. Hypocrite!

I may be the only one, but I LOVE Tom Cruise and think he is a great actor. I think he will be just fine as a super hero.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO..........when I think Tom, I think has-been! He's shown so much weirdness between Scientology and knocking-up Katie Holmes.......I just can't get into him or his movies any longer.
I think Tom cruise would be perfect as a superhero. He's got such a great range, and already is an action star so why not? Perfect casting in my personal opinion :)

it is really hard for me to separate tom cruise the actor from tom cruise the man. he's made himself into a clown in the public arena, and that really affects the way i see him on screen.
Ditto. I have no desire to every see another movie with him in it, in fact, that is what will make me stay away from a movie I might otherwise see.
If he is in the movie I skip it. The same with Katie, but I will not watch her because she can't act her way out of a paper bag. I have tried to watch movies with her in it (thank you for not smoking and batman). Her acting was pitiful at best.
Although he has life experience with aliens, count me out!

When I think Tom, I see someone who's mentally unstable and member of a dangerous fascist-like cult. So I most certainly won't watch anything he'll be in. And Katie should have kept herself to TV.

Suri is a doll. Tom is too weird to take seriously. ET Phone Home (ie., Katie).
When I think of Tom Cruise, I don't think of a superhero. But I definitely DO think of aliens, so he's a perfect fit.
