Any Prince fans? Curious to know what he's been up to lately? Turns out he became a Jehovah’s Witness in 2001 and literally goes door to door to preach about his new faith.
What?
The singer told USA Today that fans completely freak out when they open their door and find Prince waiting for them.
"Sometimes fans freak out. It might be a shock to see me, but that’s no reason for people to act crazy, and it doesn’t give them license to chase me down the street."
Prince is so
devoted to his faith that he even takes the Bible to business meetings
- to show executives he is serious about doing a deal.
"There are all kinds of possible deals artists aren’t privy to. I love to bring the Bible to the table. I start by asking if they believe in God, then: ‘What kind of business do you want to conduct: Transparent or hide the ball?’ I’ll do tours and albums if the deal is clean."

yikes.
Can you imagine him coming up to your door in a purple jumpsuit, platform boots, exposed chest, gold jewelery dangling everywhere handing out religious propaganda? what a sight!
Gayist...man...ever...
I was born and raised Jehovah Witness, and i got out of it when i turn 18. (my parents still are). Jehovah Witnesses do not care about fame or money - or anything that has to deal with "this world". They barely even like you to go to college. So i find that hes bringing a bible to business meetings a little odd, and i almost call BS on the whole story.
Let's hope he never gets seriously ill, needing an operation. Don't JWs shun blood transfusions? Why do people feel the need all the time to bring something as private as religion (to my friends, family and me at least) out in the open? Many people who claim to be born again or very much believing were later found out to have seriously strayed. Hypocrites, IMHO. And toting around a bible or talking in public doesn't make one a better person.
Again, what is it with being religious seeming to mean you are a fanatic needing to force your views on the rest of the world????!!!!!! I had a client sit at my desk one day and ask me if I believed in God. I cant even remember my reply but I was so shocked. Who does that sort of thing?
Can you imagine even getting CLOSE to Prince's home door and he can come, uninvited to mine and try to preach to me?! These are the things that are wrong with the world in my opinion. Keep the hell away from me if I dont invite you and your views in my home.
I know plenty of Jehovahs witnesses, and secular education is not condemned or even discouraged. Anything required to help obtain secular work in order to support yourself is actually encouraged, but the pursuit of consumerism and material wealth is not. Jehovah's Witnesses know that true happiness is not derived from the accumulation of wealth or riches. They know happiness comes from doing God's will- and living according to God's standards- in away to please him. What Prince is doing is commendable. He is going out and preaching door to door- a command that Jesus gave his disciples in Matthew 24:14. He cannot help that he has a name in the music industry and that he has become well known to the public., But what he has chosen to embrace his new found knowledge of the bible and despite the obvious hindrances, he still is going door to door like the rest of J.W's... And secondly they dont force their views on anyone if you cared to listen when they come to your door. they encourage all to read the bible, their OWN personal bible. It doesnt make them better people, they just live a lot happier lives the rest of the world that couldnt care for their neighbour
We have the option to go to college or not- just as any other decision as an individual. No one is denied the opportunity to go to college just like any one else that is a personal decision if you want to or not. We are encouraged to provide for a family -1 Timothy 5:8- if that means going to college than that is fine. As a servant of GOD we effort ourselves to being balanced at what we do -Matthew 28:19,20, Acts 20:20,21- and do not lose sight of that. We do accept transfusions just not blood transfusions-Acts 15: 28,29. We see how sacred the blood is and what it represents. We protect our bodies from any infections or consecuences due to a blood transfusion. There are many SUBSTITIONS for treatments that are possible that many doctors see that are more beneficial and have saved lives. We want the best treatment possible one that is clean of impurities and that gives us life and not death. As a christian, we follow Jesus' example which he left for us when he was on earth. He was known for qualities such as compassion, patience, love, giving, peaceful and above all humility. That quality lead to obey God in the most crucial moment of his life- sacrificing his own life for each and one of us. Due to the fact that adam and eve sinned we are imperfect. Which as individuals we are imperfect, we EACH pay for our own ACTIONS. But we try utmost to follow the bible norms and principles. We do not want to be showy or try to impose we want to share. All of you have the right to not accept. We do our job though to encourage others to read the bible and understand god's point of views. 7 million Jehovah's witnesses worldwide do not want to pass any one up in over 250 countries we preach in. We want a fair chance for everyone. Zepheniah 2:2,3.
What. The. Hell.
This is REALLY old news. To the point that it's not even newsworthy anymore. Groan ...
yeah, this is a super old story but maybe Prince is just telling it again in an interview? On a different note..he has the most wicked sense of humor. He LOVES playing practical jokes, which seems so opposite of how I always pictured him. I saw him as very serious and snobby.
Jehovah's witnesses do not stop anyone from pursuing college education. In fact, I know of many that have masters and bachelor's degree but they make sure whatever job they do or money they make do not become first place in their life. Material things go and come so "Bible Study and Personial Relationship" should be foremost and other things after.
JW's do not carry The Bible. They carry and use their own version. They are a known cult. Look it up it's all there to see. My husband was raised in a JW family. He suffered alot of abuse as most of the kids do. Ever notice how most of their Kingdom Halls have no windows?

My husband was raised in a JW family. He suffered alot of abuse as most of the kids do. Ever notice how most of their Kingdom Halls have no windows? This is the most ludricous comment I've read. Local halls all over town have windows and beautiful artwork inside. The halls are built by volunteers- even the meals are volunteered. If windows are limited it is because of financial savvy and not wanting to waste the space. All halls are opened to the public and invitations are given out worldwide. You gonna discuss the halls in Africa that have open fronts now too? Wonder what they do every Sunday??? The witnesses use a modern day translation from the original Greek and Hebrew language. Even the game show jeoperdy pointed out it is the most accurate of all versions in the world today. And--- just so you know, all witnesses encourage Bible reading-- use your own- just read it. Get some knowledge before you criticize people!!!
