What's Your Opinion on Mineral Makeup?

So do you wear mineral makeup? Did you switch as soon as they came out with it? What's your take on the whole craze?

I was oh so happy when they came out with mineral makeup, it was something new and unusual to try. So I scooped up the whole starter kit a few years back, and tried it out. At first it felt weird to have the powder be the only thing on my skin. I kind of actually like the feeling of a liquid makeup, so I switched back to my normal tinted moisturizer. Then a year ago I bought another kit to try it again. This time I broke out from it, I have very sensitivie skin. So it was a no go again!!

Recently I was looking in to the safety of beauty products, and found a site called Skin Deep. It's a cosmetics database, and they rank the safety of beauty products. So when I looked up my tinted moisturizer, I found out it actually scored fairly low. Then, I looked up what foundations are actually safe, and ran across Everday Minerals. They consistently received great scores, so I took a look at their web site.

Much to my surprise they offer a FREE trial kit. You get to try a few of their products, and that way you can find your right shades. Not to mention even without the free trial kit, the prices are great. So this week I've been trying it out, and guess what...my skin doesn't seem to mind it. It actually covers really well and I am totally liking it. I suggest you take a look at their site, and since you can try it for free...it's for sure worth a shot.

I tried Bare Essenctuals for about a year...mostly because everyone was switching...my face broke out less, but I never really liked the way the make-up looked. I recently went back to MAC and couldn't be happier. I'm not into rocking Christina level make-up everyday, but if I'm going to spend time every morning putting on make-up I'd like to look (at least semi-) flawless!

I ordered a sample kit. I've been wanting to try mineral make up for a while but couldn't bring myself to order the one from t.v. Plus, my skin is very sensitive too, so it's helpful to know that the other kind was not kind to your skin. I thought minerals would be the way to go for sensitive skin but I guess not.

Just ordered the free kit, too. I use Bare Minerals and Maybelline but my face seems too dry after I put it on. Maybe this one will be better for my sensitive skin! Thanks for the info!

I tried Bare Minerals once. They seemed to work really well but then after a while I guess my skin started to get more blotchy then the powders could handle and it was back to using liquid foundations. PLUS I found that the powder would rub off in the morning almost completely. Oh well. A plus is that it really made my skin super soft!:P
