Yeah...let's be honest here, I could give you advice but I'm on my way out the door to go get a 300 calorie Tazo Chai Tea Iced Latte.  I'm not the one you want to be listening.

I swear Starbucks puts crack in their drinks or something because everybody I know is ADDICTED.

Don't sweat the petty stuff and don't pet the sweaty stuff :)

Vera, I'm always fighting it too! I find that eating high fiber foods at meals helps me not get those munchies as bad. But also... DO SNACK. Just choose the right things. It will help you with the cravings. Apples are awesome snacks... lots of fiber and I never feel hungry right after one. One good thing to help with eating raw veggies is to add a Laughing Cow cheese wedge. That makes any veggie taste awesome and there are only 60 calories. Drinking lots of water helps me too. If you stick with the healthy snacks I do think that you will stop feeling those awful hunger pains and your body will get used to it. It sucks but once you get over that hump its all easy peasy. :) GOOD LUCK.

Hi Vera! I lost 30+ pounds last year on WW and now I am maintaining. OMG, maintaining is harder than losing! I have some tips for you that work wonderfully for me and keep me "in check" 1) Water, water, water. Drink water all day. It helps fight off hunger if your stomach is filled with water. 2) Don't deprive yourself! If I want a piece of chocolate cake I have it! Granted it is a small slice but it satisfies my craving nonetheless. 3) I am a BIG fan of the 100 calorie pack snacks. They make them in pretty much everything now from nuts to potato chips! Even if I get a little "crazy" and eat 3 packs at a time it is still OK. 4) High fiber foods keep you full longer. I buy everything that is available with more fiber from bread to pasta. I have found that apple slices are a great high fiber snack. 5) Wheat, wheat, wheat. My sister is a nurse and she likes to say, "The whiter the bread, the quicker your dead." Eat wheat everything from bread to crackers. The darker the bread, the better it is for you. And it has more fiber. I hope these tips will help you! Good luck :) Peace, Love & Kindness

Hi Vera! BTW, I love your video blogs - you're so cute! In late 2006, I started losing weight for my wedding. Instead of eating huge burritos for lunch everyday, I started replacing my high-fat lunch with a really delicious salad. While salads can be boring, this one is DELICIOUS and so filling. I use half a bag of romaine lettuce, half a can of rinsed black beans, drained canned corn, half a tomato, half an avocado, some low-fat shredded cheese, a handful of crumbled up whole grain tortilla chips and some low fat ranch dressing. All the fiber keeps you full for hours. Also, follow it with a ton of water. Oatmeal for breakfast is boring, but it's also good for losing weight. Good luck!

I thought I couldn't give up Mountain Dew...but I have. I Can Not give up wine. I don't drink it every day but I couple nights a week I will have a glass or two if it is the weekend. Tips. I have replaced my soda with decaf iced tea that I brew myself. If it is decaf it counts as water and I don't like water. Water, I force myself to drink a couple glasses a day. I think it really does help. Snacks. Apples are the best! LIke Melissa said, high fiber. On Sunday night I cut up all kinds of veggies for snacks and for my hubby's lunch. It is easy to just grab a handful of cut veggies and go. Also, hard boiled eggs. Have you discovered the Ziploc Steamer bags? They are awesome. Throw your veggies in, add a little salt, microwave for about 3 minutes depending on the veggie. It tells you on the bag how long. I love Zucchini and Broccoli in them. You can ever make chicken and fish! Good Luck!

Vera...I think just giving up your tea would be enought for you to lose weight. 4,000 calories= more than a pound a week! Love the videos.

I agree with the above poster. Sometimes it doesn't matter what you do or don't eat, if you're not doing SOME exercise you are fighting a losing battle. Eat what you need to eat to satisfy your hunger, snack on apples, mandarins, kiwi fruit (i have it cut up in a fruit salad in the fridge ready to go-i even take some out with me so I don't end up getting a cookie at the shops!), nuts (almonds unsalted), carrot sticks whatever you like. And then all you need to do is do 20 minutes exercise a day! Promise you WILL lose weight! But basically if you are starving you are not goin to be able to keep it up, you'll just yoyo- and get sick of it too. Consider hiring a treadmill or maybe a stationery bike which you can set up in lounge to do 20 minutes while watching the news, fav tv show, when kids asleep in arvo, beforee they wake up in the morning- WHENEVER you want to/can do!! Sorry, I know this is not what you wanted to hear, LOL! Think of your heart! I know how you feel about the hunger part- i really am always hungry, a salad for lunch just doesn't cut it for me as I end up starving and cranky in 2 hrs time- i need bread, dammit!! So I love my carbs and hence i simply have to do exercise as well if i want to be happy with the way i look.. Its a simple equation for me: energy in, energy out = a slimmer me!

for me to lose weight...i drink grapefruit juice instead of orange juice (it gets rid of any excess water weight)...no bread...no cheese...no coffees...and the hardest thing of all is no sugar except from fruit. also, i have a can of campbells tomato soup for lunch and for some reason it helps burn the fat. add plain yogurt if you can stand it for a snack. for dinner...a protein + steamed veggies & brown rice. plus walking after dinner. don't forget no eating after 6:00 p.m & add just a squeeze of lemon or lime to your water. after the weight loss i eat whatev in moderation...even pizza & some dark chocolate once a week. good luck.

I practically ONLY drink water! There are tons of hidden calories in EVERYTHING we drink, e.g. a simple orange juice. I also stop eating after 7 and try to eat a lot of fruit, just to stop my hunger ;) Good luck Vera!

Ok, first you look great, don't think you need to lose. But I know personally how that feels, and I too was miss skinny who went to dr's to gain in High School. So, the appetite remains, but the metabolism left, get it. Giving those teas up will do it in a month, but you could brew your own, and add a little honey. Lemonade sweetened with honey or real maple syrup is good to flush you out, take a ceyenne pepper pill and flush, flush, flush your system. My biggest trick is raw. One raw apple a day, no matter what. Then, before lunch and dinner, eat four or five carrots, the little ones. Snack while you cook, and you won't eat as much of the worse stuff, but you will be satisfied. If you want seconds, have another round of carrots, then if you still want it, eat it. It keeps me from going on a deprivation bender. Try to eat four salads a week as a meal, I have some great recipes if you want, keeping them different and fun is the way to keep from hating the big.bowl.of.raw.veggies. I love ones that have fruit in them, and always use spinach instead of lettuce, packs a bigger punch. Lettuce wraps are good, I get the soy filling in the organic section, this is the one time I use lettuce, and I get romaine, fill and snack down. Delicious, and even the kids like them, they call them lettuce tacos. Sushi is another good thing to pig out on when I feel the need to go over board. Healthy, and girly. And chocolate is my undoing. Especially once a month. I wish I could get hypnotized to get an aversion to it.

Hi Vera, I'm kind of in the same boat. I'd like to loose 5-10 pounds, ideally. For me, what helps me stay full is eating every two hours. I have a small breakfast (cream of wheat or oatmeal), two hours later, a snack consisting of a fruit and protein (so an apple and string cheese, or a piece of fruit and some nuts), then I have lunch which consists of a larger portion or calorie in take than the breakfast (this is still my tough area). Two hours later, I have another snack, then it's dinner time. Lately though, I seem to be having dinner after 7 which I do not recommend. What I'd like to get in the habit of doing is eating more in the mornings and less in the evenings, but I have yet to accomplish that. Also, WATER! I hate water, but I'm trying. But yes, eat little snacks through out the day, that way you won't feel the hunger pangs. Good luck!

About the only thing I do is eat what I want in moderation. I would not deny myself a drink from Starbucks if I wanted one. I would get the small size once a week or so. I found out a long time ago if you deprive yourself of something you love, it makes you want even more. I cannot eat a lot at one meal. So I eat small amounts 6 times a day. If we go out to dinner I always only eat about a third/half of it and bring the rest home to have for my lunch when hubby is working. I also try not eat before I go to bed. Ideally there is about 4 hrs from dinner till bedtime. Sometimes it doesn't work out that way. I cannot sleep on a full stomach. I wake up in the night with heartburn if I do. I eat my biggest meal in the morning then I have all day to burn it off. Of course by breakfast I am starving. We are going to Kauai in a month and I want to lose about 5 to 10 lbs before we go. Highly doubt it will happen tho.

My advice for getting off the starbucks is to replace 2 our of your 3 lemonade teas with green tea, I used to be addicted to starbucks lattes and I started to drink green tea instead. I hated it at first but after a while I started to rave the green tea. I now have a latte maybe once every 6 months and I don't miss it at all.
