Peta Protests The Olsen Twins' Book Signing For Influence

Peta Protests The Olsen Twins' Book Signing For Influence

Oh my goodness... how awful!

Imagine having to put on a smile and pretend like this doesn't bother you for the sake of your fans and the event you've planned? Who wouldn't get affected by those cartoon interpretations? They are hideous!

Peta is at it again - this time targeting the Olsen twins during a recent book signing in the city. Mary Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen signed their new book 'Influence' at Barnes & Noble
in New York City yesterday afternoon while protesters made some noise outside the establishment.

Wow the protestor on the left has a faux fur lining on the hood of her coat. Isn't that a bit hypocritical! And why do the representations of the twins have beards?! Peta is such a strange society, no one even listens to them anymore.

too true. the problem is that they have a great cause, but their strong belief has become a joke to most people. It's not cerebral anymore it's rediculous.

PETA is like those bullies at school that you just have to ignore. They have the freedom of speech on their side. People's beliefs are deeply rooted, and some will do whatever it takes to express them...even if it is disturbing

Animals are not people, people. Do you kill insects? Of course you do. So cut the crap.

I'm anti fur...but PETA seems to take things way too far. Honestly their organization is a joke....they obviously care more about animals than people. As a former vegetarian (for many years but had to give it up due to health issues) I can understand their views on certain issues but they shouldn't try to force their beliefs on others. The Olsens, and anyone else for that matter is entitled to wear whatever they choose.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

Is it really terrible? Really? A lot of girls idolize the Olsen's twins and try to emulate their fashion sensibilities (for whatever reason). Fur is cruel and there is an overabundance of warm and fashionable options, so do they insist on wearing it? PETA might be outrageous at times, but everyone knows who they are and they've raised awareness for a lot of animal rights issues. I don't think that makes them a joke at all and I admire them a great deal.

I agree, I love Peta and what it stands for. Animals do not have a voice and I'm one that will NEVER wear them on my body. People have no idea what animals go thru when they have their fur removed, its simply horrible. As for the comment of the women wearing fur trim, who's to say it wasn't faux fur?

I think Peta should continue to do what they are doing and if your not a fan then dont pay attention to them. Simple as that, freedom of speech.

Whahahah. Good going Peta. I hate these 2 twats always strolling in furs

i agree with PETA's cause, but they're tactics are ridiculous.

Pogue Mahone Pogue Mahone said:

Last time I checked we were free to choose for ourselves what we want to wear and we don't need to ask PETA's "permission". It's really none of their business, and who ASKED them, anyway? They just can't mind their own business, and use intimidation and harrassment, which says more about them than about anyone else....they're just nosey bullies!!

Rasclaat Rasclaat said:

PETA are freaks. They can kiss my a@@! I'll not only wear fur, but I'll eat meat too and if they don't like it, tough! For every one animal they save...I'll eat TWO!! They can't tell me what to do, or anyone else for that matter either. They are extreme militant psychos!!

Go PETA!!

Shel Shel said:

PETA is absolutely obnoxious. When that poor young man up here in Canada was stabbed, mutilated, and beheaded on a Greyhound bus they had the audacity to compare that to a cow being slaughtered in a slaughterhouse. It was very offensive, and when you use tactics like that it really turns people off, rather than making them simpathetic to their cause.
I also hate PETA because I think they are hypocritical. They say they are for animal rights, yet they support breed specific legislation. That is like saying "I'm all for human rights, oh, but not for Jews." Ridiculous.

This is one book I won't be wasting my money on.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

This just makes me hate PETA. I think that the underlying message to their actions is a noble one, but they will never garner respect by behaving like bullies. They had the audacity to compare the greyhound bus murder to eating meat. I love animals, but I will NEVER value an animals life more than a human being. South Park pretty much sums up my feelings about PETA (and so many other things)...

Anonymous Anonymous said:

Ashley and Mary Kate are probably laughing all the way to the bank! PETA is a joke. In fact, I'm eating a steak tonight in their honor. Let me go find my leather jacket.....

Both you and Rasclaat made me laugh so hard I almost peed myself!

They need to target people like Sarah Palin who directly kill animals, and leave the Olsens alone.

I wonder if that's Pamela Anderson behind the mask.

Speaking of eye openers, have any of you seen the movie Zeitgeist? It blew my mind. And yes, I believe it.

Julia Julia said:

Oh, waaaaaah! The poor little billionaire Olsen monkeys, how terrible for them - how will they ever muddle through? Give me a break. And to that ignoramus that actually said, "well, at least they don't kill the animals themselves". Yeah, people like the Olsens and factories kill poor animals INHUMANELY with machines and give them a horrible life in a small CAGE. Think about that next time you eat some factory raised chicken or beef from the grocery store. On the occasion that I eat meat, I get it from SMALL local farms where there animals get to be with their family and graze outside on their natural diet, grass (grass-fed beef and chicken). On those large factory farms, cows are taken away from their mother (they don't even get to nurse!) and they are stuck in a small enclosure where the poor things don't even have enough room to lay down, and they are fed an unnatural diet of genetically modified (GMO) corn and hay which is sprayed with hormones and antibiotics. They are not supposed to eat corn and hay, and that's WHY they get so sick and so these sick factory farm whackos spray antibiotics all over their hay! And guess what, those hormones and antibiotics are still in the meat when you eat it! (You can't "cook out" the chemicals.) Every time you buy a factory raised beef or chicken from the grocery store, YOU ARE SUPPORTING THIS. Vote with your dollars and buy grass-fed humanely treated beef and chicken from your local health foods store. VOTE WITH YOUR DOLLARS!
