Samantha Ronson Blogs About Flour Throwing Incident

Samantha Ronson has used her MySpace blog to respond to the PETA incident from last week where a member threw flour all over Lindsay Lohan. As usual, I am in complete agreement with the DJ and LOVE the way she ended her vent.

Flour Power
I posted a blog last week that angered some people who didn't know how to read properly, I then wasted my own time defending myself and now I regret that.
There is a fine line that distinguishes the difference between exercising our freedom of expression and offending others, for example the debate regarding freedom of speech vs. hate speech.... i feel that this principle should apply to protestors also. It's a pity that some groups feel the need to assault people as opposed to fighting with words.
Whenever I feel the need to vent about something that feels unfair to me I reach for my computer, I don't run out of the house with abusive intentions. I don't expect everyone to react the same way, but I do expect people to respect each other. Maybe that's my first mistake? It seems lately I am learning that there are too many people who put another species before their fellow man and that's sad. I don't wear fur, but I don't think I have the right to ATTACK those who do. No one has that right.
PETA should focus their efforts on educating people on what they believe are injustices instead of seeking press via harassing those in the limelight. I received an apology too many days late from the PETA folks (the blog removal was too little too late) and today I'm pissed at the bag of flour thrown on Lindsay last night. Not because I got powdered down, but because the girl who threw it acted like an animal herself. I take that back, it's an insult to animals to group her in with them, my dog is FAR more civilized than that person. I would have more respect for them if they didn't use other people to get their point across. Lindsay, Mary Kate, Ashley Olsen, Anna Wintour and the rest of the targeted celebrities aren't the problem, I'm pretty sure they're not the only ones wearing fur, in fact, they should be appreciated by PETA for giving them a target. If it weren't for them, who would get them press?????
It's pretty long, so I am going to cut it here. To read the rest of the blog entry, click on the continue reading link below.
I know I'm probably going to get a lot of angry emails in response, but I don't really care. I got enough last week for no reason so I'm more than happy to ignore the nastiness after seeing what I saw last night. I'm not about to throw on a fur coat in retaliation, but had I had one within reach, I'm not sure I would have walked away from it.
p.s. when was the last time you saw an animal attack one of its own in defense of a human? hmmmmm..... that's one to grow on!
p.s.s. i think there are plenty of families that could have used that flour for a meal. nice job, lady.

Sam Ronson is actually a pretty intelligent cookie! I'm pretty sure anyone with half a brain feels the same way she does. PETA brought awareness to the rights of animals in a fantastic way when they first appeared on the scene - they have no one to blame but themselves for turning into an absolute joke organization today.
Great blog, and i agree with you. Thanks for being positive of these two. Many of us who like them are afraid to post our support cause of the hate that exists concerning these too in many blogs. It seems many bloggers have made it their goal to attack these two daily.Love the hand holding.
STFU SamHo.
I don't like people who wear fur, but I don't like what PETA is doing. their actions are so violent that you forget what they want.
their actions are way less violent than what you see on reality TV. And the cause is worth it.

Sam does come across as very intelligent. Refreshing.

That's exactly right Samantha. PETA has gone way to far and it's become harassment and they also endanger people.
Visit my fashion blog!
anyone who wears fur is an ignorant piece of shit, end of story.
Its the age old saying, two wrongs don't make a right. I am against harming animals, however, I am also against harming humans. Due to the actions of PETA I really have no interest to hear what they have to say, and I chose not to support them. There are many other agencies and organizations working for the rights of animals that do not take it upon themselves to harm others. Those are the ones that are going to make a difference.
PETA has gone too far on many Ave's. i have asked them for an intelligent explanation of how they know we are not supossed to eat meat or wear fur. they don't have one. at least not one that can't be blasted by the obvious ie..why is it ok for hawks to hunt and eat meat as is their nature, but not humans? why will dogs go out and hunt and bring the (way gross) pelts back to their owners? certainly the dog has some inbred idea that we need the fur to keep us warm. i once had a dog (rottweiler)that would bring me possum pelts, really gross but i understood, it was getting cold, she thought i would use them. i asked PETA all these things and asked them to explain to me how they KNOW that this is wrong. they don't know. they told me that if i was intelligent enough to use common sense i would know enough to know that that is wrong!?!?!?!?
UMMMM! so obviously all they can do is get angry and act out.
PS my daughter still freaks out just talking about the dog bringing us pelts and it happened ten years ago:)
Go Sam!
How many of you animal lovers are just as passionate about protecting children or your fellow adult citizens from inhumanity? Didn't think so. Hypocrites!

Are these people for real? How is this getting them any respect or listening ears?
They need someone to call the authorities on their asses, they'll soon stop when someone flip out and brutally attacks them.
...btw, I totally have a crush on samantha Ronson..

sorry, but i was going to say that i wish these celebs would just keep their mouths closed for the most part because they come off sounding so whiny & actually quite unintelligent.
i dont agree with PETA's actions, but i think that her commenting on it is giving PETA even more attention & press which is one of her points.

Maybe Sam can use her time to talk to Lindsey on wearing fur.
If we don't kill and eat an animal, another animal will. PETA should start protesting carnivorous animals and harassing them. Rather than enforcing their ridiculous beliefs on everyone else about eating meat and wearing fur, why don't they focus their energy on promoting more humane ways of meat production like encouraging free range animals. Also, why only attack people wearing fur and not the tons of people that choose to wear leather; talk about a publicity stunt.
I don't think it's wrong eating meat but I do have problem with people wearing fur - I mean they skin the animal alive and then they give the left over for the animal to eat who is also about to be skin alive and the cycle continue. This is abuse and it's wrong. It's sickening.

PETA is just bringing negative publicity to their organization with these shenanigans. There's got to be a better way to educate people. But once they've been educated it's THEIR choice if they choose to eat meat or wear fur. I don't wear fur (it's too hot where I live) but I do love my carne asada. So what's next for them? Harassing us meat eaters? Yeah, like to see you try.
Her p.s. is moronic.
PETA is a bunch of lunatics who care more about animals than their fellow human beings, just like Sam said. People have a right to wear what they want to wear, and that includes fur. What PETA does is physical assault, and they should be prosecuted. And it doesn't stop anything, does it, you smug morons? We're still gonna wear fur because we want to, we can afford it, and WE CAN! F*ck all of you granola heads.
And I agree with you! What happened to respecting peoples' choices and diversity and just ... respect. What a horrible thing to do, and only reflects poorly on the individual that perpetrated it. I am getting tired of magazines blogs and such harassing Lindsay Lohan. Just sick of it! I've deleted all of the blogs/magazines and such that continue to be so nasty about her and anyone else. It's a sad state of affairs in the world when people choose to be so negative and so unkind, and are making a profit from it, with the help of the negative and nasty people who, whether they realise it or not, are only portraying their own unhappiness to the world at large.
Given the class and graciousness of Barack and Michelle Obama, his continued "higher road" approach to the Republicans nastiness towards him during the campaign, and the joy of the world at his winning the Presidency, should we not all be taking a page from their book on how to treat others?
Thank you for NOT participating in the horrible nasty melay that others have done, because I very much enjoy your site and I would have been sad to have also deleted you from my favorites!

OK - Seriously the Most random post of the day. going from Fur to how political campaign is run. Seriously?
it's not ok to hit or harassing people but it's ok to do that to animals? Hmmmmm, I don't get that concept?
I totally agree with Sam some of those PETA people are ridiculus. I understand you have every right to protest, but to physically harass people is unacceptable. I feel that this is America and people have the right to wear what they want to wear. Protesting is fine, but you step over the line when you go above that line.

yeah PETA is crazy sometimes. obviously samantha ronson is even more fired up about it because lindsay is her gf, but that behavior (attacking people over fur) is really outlandish, violent and humiliating. everyone has free will and can wear what they want.

PETA can't complain too much, Lindsey did give up Meat. LOL!

I totally agree with Sam. As for "her commenting on it is giving PETA even more attention & press which is one of her points" sorry, but if you don't comment you are being silenced by a group of lunatics who in my opinion don't necessarily care first and foremost about animal protection but more about having a valve for their own anger and frustration about whatever.
i think what she wrote make sense. harming animals is not okay but harassing people is worse. the only people who got satisfaction and laugh seeing these kind of actions by the group are the people who hates the celebrities they targeted, i mean their message is lost.
Not that i agree with animal cruelty or anything, but why are they (PETA) so focused on fur... why not leather too? leather comes from animals too, and sheepskin, and lamb roast, and sushi, i could go on....
