Rob Pattinson Fears For His Life

UGH! I read this quote and actually got very nervous for Rob Pattinson. Because all you need is one crazy person in your life and it's all over. The panic, the obsession, the lust women feel for this man is making the actor insanely paranoid and scared for his life. And it's TRUE! All you need is one crazed fan to do something very stupid...
"People ambush me in public and ask me to bite them and want to touch my hair. I just don’t want someone to have a needle and give me AIDS and I don’t want to get shot or stabbed. This is my life."
Even while doing press during the LA release for Twilight, Rob couldn't enjoy the moment. All he kept thinking about was being in danger.
"I thought, ‘Oh my God. Are they going to blow the place up?’"
Terrible!!

Can you imagine having people come up to you and ask you to bite them? That would freak me out.
It is freaky and not safe...these so called "fans" are people who need to get a life. There is admiring someone's work, and then there is not having a life of your own and living in fantasy land thru celebrities. Twilight is a movie, not reality.

I'm sorry, I do really like him, but, um...paranoid much? I mean Daniel Radcliffe, during Harry Potter, (just to name one example) has not been killed or maimed. Zac Effron gets mobbed and he's still around. I just think this is a bit out there! Maybe he should just retire and become an underwater basket weaver on some island somewhere.
I agree it would be weird to have crazy fans, but there are many-much bigger-actors and idols out there living a perfectly safe and non paranoid existence. He is really starting to kill Edward for me.
this is all new to him, people react in different ways. you can't be mad at him for fearing for his life.
ugh....he may have an anxiety disorder. I have minor anxiety, and get the way he described whenever I go anywhere, even when I'm at home I'm worried some idiot will set my apt. complex on fire. I can't imagine how crazy being a celeb would make me.

I think he's the crazy one. I'm sure it's scary to be thrown into this, but someone just waiting to infect him with an AIDS tainted needle. C'mon!!!!
Has any star ever had a building blown up because of them?
In the realm of star popularity he's nobody.

C'mon people, it has happened before, where fans gets too obsessed and the actor ends up dead...it can happen again, I dont blame him for being paranoid, I would be too.
It's one thing to be paranoid, it's another thing to be so completely paranoid about a situation that he's asked for. He wanted to be an actor and fame is something that comes with the success of the job. He's going to have to learn how to deal with it before he has a complete breakdown. That being said, people objectify and almost worship celebrities, when in fact they're just people...

I kind of get what he's talking about, there might be some crazy boyfriend of a girl who's in love with his character, and something weird like that might happen. But he needs to deal with it, 'cause it ain't going away anytime soon!
the more i look at their pics the more i find resemblance between them!

I really don't understand how people can get so obsessed of an actor. What goes on in their head? They must be going crazy!

I really like this guy, cos, well.. He's GORGEOUS! But I think he is being a tad melodramatic. There are people MUCH more famous out there, and they're not being blown up or being infected with AIDS. He'll survive :)
I think he has a point...Twilight fans are a little more obsessive than most, and it is quite the phenomenon. I think he needs to hire some 24 hour security until the movie hype dies down. I feel bad because I really want the sequels to be amazing, and if he is this freaked out - he may not want another 2, 3 or 4 years of this craziness. At the same time though - he should realize that he just stared in a $140 million money maker, and that some anxiety is going to come with the territory, and that it won't be long till he can fade back into somewhat of a normal existence soon.
I believe that they're all signed on for the rest of the movies. The next two are going to be shot back to back. The 4th movie the script is being worked on, I guess.

Yes, because people just walk around randomly everywhere with syringes full of AIDS. Issues?

exactly!! i can understand the attention being overwhelming and even frightening but a needle and giving him aids?!?!?!?! he lost me on that one.
I wouldn't take everything you see in print to be fact. Things get totally misconstrued and taken out of context...and just plain made up. Though I know he is a bit thrown by girls asking him to bite him. People need to settle down.
um, marijuanna makes you paranoid, lol
I don't see the attraction. That hair is ug.
All these insane Twilight fans are really making me reluctant to read the book or see the movie. It's all very off-putting :/
I hate when people say,"oh but you wanted this," "deal with it," Try and put yourself in his shoes even for a day. You once had your day to day life and now you cant even step outside of your house without people in your face,I would be some what tripped out. Say you won the lotto, you wanted it...now allot of people want a piece of you or your money.Give the guy a break, there are allot of nut bags out there!!!
Ok,I'm off my soap box.
It is alot to deal with especially being thrust into the spolight like Robert and the rest of the Twilight cast has been, but if Robert wants to stay in the business he has to learn to deal with it. He has to do the press for the movie, he has to deal with the fans, he has to get used to it. Or he's never going to survive this cuthroat business. It's just the way it is.

He has stated in previous interviews that he was paranoid way before the whole Twilight thing began and now that he is being followed by the papps and being screamed at by all the fangirls.. it's a little overwhelming. I saw the interview where he was talking about the AIDS thing and he laughed after he said it. But he has said more than once that he is a paranoid freak. BUT when he signed up for Twilight it was just supposed to be a low budget indie film.. he had NO idea it was going to grow into something this big, this fast. I bet it's hard to wrap your brain around it all!
I think that a lot of this was said in a joke. Though he did say that he always used to be slightly paranoid even before he began acting and that the crazyiness surrounding Twilight increase this. I think it was in the interview with Hayley Williams (MySpace Artist on Artist).
Yes he said: "I´m a very paranoid person...since I was a little kid"

if this is a true quote, then i think thats the pot talking...paranoid much?!
i do love him & i realize this is all very overwhelming for him, but if he is that nervous then he needs to hire better security...arent a ton of his fans tweens anyway? i dont think they run around with blood & what not contaminating celebs with HIV. if he was joking it wasnt very funny or anything, just kind of lame. fans can be kooky, get a good bodyguard.
It's fine to be a little paranoid with all those fans near him, but to be worried about someone with a syringe with the aids virus is a little much. Its possible it could happen but I seriously doubt it. Who would even do such a thing. And the hair, if he doesn't want people touching his hair, which I may add, he does not wash, he should CUT IT! Then the fans won't want to touch the hair cause they'll be nothing to touch!
I think he needs to deal with his anxiety issues if he wants to continue acting on this level. I think he's pretty talented, and would hate for him to quit acting.
But Twilight fans are pretty insane and I don't blame him for being somewhat paranoid..
I think the issue he was commenting on with the syringe was not the fact that he thinks someone wants to give him AIDs, its the fact that they would want to draw his blood and drink it. Thats how I looked at it.
The girls who obsess over this book religiously seriously think that he is a vampire, so why wouldnt they try and draw his blood or get him to bite them?
And I do agree with Gia above, pot does make you paranoid and he looks like he hits it a couple of times a day.
And the hair thing, perhaps he should just learn to say "no".
I think he is kinda kidding. If he's not its because he has a lot of crazies around him bugging him all the time. I would have anxiety too if I were him.
would somebody PLEASE wax that man's FACE?!
Am I the only one who things Kristen Stewart has cankles? Girl has NO curve on her legs, especially in the first pictures that you can see her legs in.
Ive actually heard he has anxiety issues. I dont think he was ready for the fame or anything, I think he just thought it would be fun and easy and a good time starring in some movie about vampires, not knowing the thrall of fans coming with it!
Some of these anxieties I can understand, like getting stabbed or shot, since thats happened before. Or maybe people breaking into his house, or harassing his family/friends, but i dont know about the aids thing, or blowing up of buildings hes in. crazy people DO tend to have very creative imaginations, so you never know, we cant speak for the future.
but i think he can take some precautions (and therapy) to get rid of some of that anxiety. i honestly think he was just some kid with anxiety issues who decided to get into acting and got picked for a movie he didnt know was going to be huge, and he has some difficulty coping.
but just because it hasnt happened before doesnt mean it never will, so i kind of get that fear. Ive never been in that place where every single place you go people might attack you and know everything about you and get you confused with a fictional character.\
maybe he should move out of L.A??
dont know if that would help much though
Am I the only person who finds this guy disgusting?
@#31 -
YES!
I watched this interview with teen mag. Go to the website and click on teen tv, I believe it is. You'll see 3 clips of him doing an interview.
He wasn't being serious. He was trying to explain how overwhelmed he gets by all the crazy teeny bopper fans screaming at him. Basically, he doesn't want to get molested by you crazy people. Yes, it was a bad attempt at sarcasm but he's not crying out saying he's all important or that someone will actually bomb a building he is in. Have none of you watched any of his interviews? He can't be taken seriously. He has different humor than Americans do and if you're not a sarcastic, cynical person you couldn't possibly understand what he's saying.
Although he does sound a little overly paranoid, maybe its time for Rob to hire a good security team to give him a little bit of peice of mind.
I would say this to him.
" I understand you are concerned about your safety I totally do understand. You know when "fans" ask you stuff and everything. Now before I leave, can I touch you hair?"
To the poster saying Kristen has cankles...how shallow and superficial can you be?
he is so fucking hot it is ridiculous.
i thought he was hot the second i saw him in harry potter.
i think he didn't really say this seriously, i mean they always make a big deal out of the things that celebrities say. ya i guess he is a bit worried which is understandable cus there are a lot of crazy fans out there, but i don't think he meant it to come out this way.
Fans are crazy.
I prefer to obsess over the hottest man alive by writing him obsessive letters for all the web to see. (You can join in the fun too- see my homepage)
Of course, given the opportunity to meet him, i would admitently deny ever hearing of the site...

I think Rob Pattinson has gotten the opportunity of a LIFETIME to portray Edward. Instead of appreciating the character (Edward) who put him on the map, he acts like an immature, spoiled child. He has made comments such as "I can't imagine saying 'I need you' to someone. I feel that way about a hamburger." (Star Magazine) and "The screaming [of the fans] sounds like going through the gates of hell" and even in one interview he lewdly said: "When they scream it makes it shrink-- it doesn't make it grow," presumably referring to his privates. I have news for Rob. The screaming fans are the ones who go to the box office, and who spend money on memoribilia, and who make you as an actor. Rob is definitely no Edward, and yet these young women have confused the actor with the character in Twilight. The cynical Rob Pattinson doesn't even have the sense to be at least neutral about the role. He will play Edward in the next movie (and get $12M for it), but he will not be believeable, because his behaviour and comments show that he really has nothing in common with the amazing Edward. Does Rob have any PR advisors that will keep him from being so acidic in his interviews? That might help the longevity of his career. ... MORE >
