Animal Activist Confronts Naomi Campbell

No red paint or loose flour here. An animal activist instead flashed a sign of a caged, injured animal in an attempt to get Naomi Campbell to stop wearing fur. He waited outside the model's Dublin hotel for over an hour until their paths crossed.
I guess this is the most effective way activists get their point across. If someone threw paint on me it would anger me more than make me second guess my stance.

I agree with this approach as opposed to a physical assault upon someone.
I strongly disagree with fur for fashion.
It looks as though she actually took a moment to look it over but I doubt she will change her ways. Animals suffering is probably not worth her time in the Hollywood world that lacks reality...

I have a lot of respect for that guy, I love that he was non violent. I think that doing things like this bring attention to the cause without scaring people off with extreme measures.

You do not have to hit your head on altar 3 times, or recite a prayer a certain way. All you need is just to do no evil and think no evil. Evil has already been define to you if you are religious. Intentionally hurting animal for a purpose of ugly coat is evil. This is not to feed hungry or to dress needy. This is to boost ego and show wealth. I believe the point here isn't that she would "kick their a$$" but rather that violence towards a "person of color" could be easily mistaken as a hate crime rather than someone standing up for animal rights, so therefore people are less inclined to go to those measures when dealing with people of color (or gay people, religious people, or other minorities that commonly fall victim to these crimes).

No one lives in a bubble and there isn't a single individual whose actions aren't inextricably linked to the rest of our lives. I know that flies in the face of conventional Western belief in the "I" as being all important, but like it or not we---people, animals, all living things---are all tangled up and connected and cannot act without impacting all the rest.
Tormenting animals and making them into coats hurts animals and therefore I don't like it. You clearly do not care, but I could make a case for the fact that humans are really just animals and therefore skinning one and making a skin suit out them à la Buffalo Bill for the frivolous purpose of fashion is perfectly legitimate. Do you care yet? Or would Bill have to be right outside your door for you to sincerely take an interest in cruelty?
I'm sure Ms. Campbell doesn't give a lick about protestors, but the media attention is really the whole point. Whatever you may think of animal rights activists, awareness is being raised by their efforts. Think about the passing of the California proposition to guarantee more room to move for calves, chickens, and pigs. This is historic, and I truly believe we are becoming more conscious and sympathetic towards the suffering of animals (and hopefully all beings in general).

Who am I?
