Little Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2009 Ad Campaign

Marc Jacobs has always been a designer that invents and reinvents looks that are all his own. When he came out with his very own childrens collection I was a bit skeptical to see how he would keep it age appropriate and covered (I mean these are children after all). But the result turned out to be a collaboration that the fashion industry just can’t do without.
These kid models were selected by casting
director Laine Rosenberg from the Generation Model Managment Agency and
are the stars of Marc’s “Little Marc Spring Summer 2009 Collection”.
The ad campaign was shot by fashion photographer Achim Lippoth,
directed by Aude Tabet and styled by Sylvia Griesser. Katey Dennon waws
the genius behind the hair and makeup for the shoot making sure these
kids were fashion forward and Marc-approved.
What do you think of this photo shoot? It
is definitely very Marc look (he’s famous for the plain white back
drop, unique positioning and washed out look. Click here to see the rest of the spread.

This is absurd. They're children. Children play and spill things. I can't believe that in a world where so many children starve, or have parents who are unjustly imprisoned, or who are abused, or homeless, there is a market for high fashion children's clothing. Disgusting.
meh, If I could afford it and had kids, I would throw them in Marc clothes!

Why do they look so unhappy? And old? I thought we'd moved past "Kids are just miniature adults." I hate these ads.

It is really different that is for sure... I think he is a little off his rocker in general, right? I am an art lover and I definately LOVE his clothes, but this is kooky!
Excuse me ... Those r little kids ... wtf r this dyed hairs and little g@y pose at the first child. I think that this clothes r too COLD (except the little sweet flower (?) dress) for little kids ... The second one is cute but only the dress, the kid looks like she's ashamed that she wears such dress O.o . What about the others ... OMG ... and this is our world's new generation O.o ??? They all look like they don't know what the word "doll" means lol ........
Is it wrong that there is the option for fashion from an adult designer to create beautiful childrenswear? Other than the fact that the name is more in the limelight, how is it different from any other childrens fashion brands? And there are lots. Including at your local supermarkets.
If you can afford well designed clothes of a high quality, you should have the option to buy it. For many, including children (I should know) fashion provides much happiness and fun.
It also doesn't mean that anything from the over-hyped adult fashion world is automatically imposed on these 'poor' children by having these clothes in their closet.

You guys need to stop being so uptight. I think the add is great - it's funny. I think the clothes are cute and not too unrealistic. It's really not that much different then what you can find at the Gap. I do agree that the high prices are pathetic. Kids grow out of clothes too soon.
