Jessica Alba Running Errands

Jessica Alba Running Errands

Jessica Alba and her mom went about their day running a few errands in Los Angeles and had to deal with the paparazzi the entire time. Imagine trying to grocery shop and having those guys watching you...

Jessica has been driving the Hybrid Yukon around town lately and it got me wondering what kind of gas mileage it got.  Apparently even though it's a "hybrid" you only get about 20 miles a gallon in the city. We are currently in the market for a car, so we are researching like mad. We want three rows, but also need a large trunk for our double stroller... any suggestions?

No suggestions with the 3rd seat. I just bought a Honda CRV and I love it. It has 4 wheel drive, but I haven't had to use it yet. On the days it snowed I just stayed home. We also looked at the Toyota Highlander Hybrid but in the end decided not to spend 40 G's on a car. Not sure if it had a 3rd row seat option. The CRV has a built in gas mileage gage so I know how much mpg's I get. Around town I get about 25 and on the highway I have had it as high as 32. A friend of mine just bought a Honda Pilot and it has a 3rd row seat as well as 2 built in dvd players for the kids. Her double stroller fits. She has a front and back not a side by side.

Vera, I wanted a third row also and I got a Ford Freestyle (now known as the Ford Taurus X). Excellent on gas, plenty of room - yet not huge, and runs awesome. I currently have an 05 and would get another one in a second!

I suggest the Honda Pilot Touring edition, 2009. We love ours and it gets good mileage. It runs on 3 or 4 cylinders while you are driving rather than all 6 cylinders which helps fuel efficiency. It has the two front and two full rows behind that decent cargo space. Look to spend about 40K but it is luxurious and fuel efficient and they looks are great. Also has a DVD player with headphones and a back up camera. Full of extras if you get the Touring model.

We drive an 04 Suburban and with 4 kids it is very roomy. It has a full third row and then 2 bucket seats as the second row. The cargo space is huge. It came with a built-in DVD player which is a lifesaver. We really love it and it is pretty good on gas.

If you want three rows and space for a double stroller-DO NOT get a Yukon or Chevy Tahoe. I have a Tahoe and when the third row seats are up there is about 8 inches of space behind them. And, the seats are a huge pain to get in and out. I did it one time and ended up having to go to the dealership to have the seat fixed because it was so twisted and stuck that way. Maybe think about a Suburban. They have the room but the gas will suck! I don't think there is a vehicle that will offer everything, unfortunately!

Suck it up an get a minivan. The space is awesome. Double stroller and groceries in the trunk. Plus you don't have rearrange seats to get people in the back

I agree with that. I had a minivan back in the 80's with my 3 kids. Don't know how I would have survived without it. They were popular back then. It even held the grandparents when they came to town.

My daughter's best friend's mom just got a Honda Odessey (a mini-van...painful, I know...) and she SWEARS by it. 3 rows, plenty of room and the DVD/NAV system. Great vehicle in my experience as a crash estimator too!

I have three kids and three nieces and nephews I keep often, so I can relate to the need for seats AND storage (my baby is still 18mo). I have looked and looked and I LOVE the Ford Expedition EL. It gives about a extra 2ft behind the third seat so you have plenty of room for stroller and groceries. It seats 8 very comfortably!! Good Luck :)
