Alex McCord And Simon van Kempen Drum Up Press For Upcoming Parenting Book
I was invited to attend Alex McCord and Simon van Kempen's
cocktail party at Bruno Jamais resturant club
in New York City last night. Originally, I thought all the Real Housewives of NY would be in attendance, but later found out that Bravo really isn't backing Alex's new parenting book venture. Besides, the season is already shot, so there would be no reason to film the evening.
The venue was PACKED - and I MEAN PACKED. It was a socialite mosh pitt. Almost every major publication was in attendance and they were all lined up to interview Alex and Simon who were seated in a small booth right when you walked in.
I didn't stay too long, but did hear that their book hasn't been picked up by a publisher yet. So this event really was a way to get some free press for their newest venture. Who pays for something like this? There were hundreds of people at that party!! Can you imagine the bill at the end of the night?

Absolutely, NOT! These two are a pretentious set of twits. They spent an entire season clamoring to get their child into a great private school. Bragged about how Francios can recite nursery rhymes in latin. For goodness sakes, let this child be a child. Did you see the way that kid acts? It would be nice to see them focus more on his social behavior than his academic achievements. After all of that, the kid ended up in a public school. Ugh...

They are terrible parents, I remember the season finale of the show and their kids were running around screaming and they never asked them to spot or anything. I think it was Francois who was playing w/Bethany's bf's food and the hamburger cost like $40!

These two are in their own la la land. Did anyone happen to watch the show? These two are a joke and to have them write a book on parenting. WOW, I wouldn't even go near it let alone even read the reviews. Their kids are out of control and have no class. How any parent can let their child run around during a dinner party is beyond me. They are all about their appearance yet their house looked like a bomb hit it. Isn't he gay? WOW

I would never buy this book. They were horrible parents on the show and my least favorite couple on the show. They come off as wannabee socialites.

YUCK! YUCK! YUCK! He is so ugly and anyone who buys a parenting book from them is out of thier mind. I do not know who is worse - them or the octomom. Thier kids have no manners and they are just wannabes. I would like to see thier shopping adventure's now that Alex, the main breadwinner has lost her job. No more pink jeans and green shoes for them. PUHHHLEEASE make them go away. They make me sick.
I am looking forward to thier book, I find them very entertaining and a class act. I think they are giving thier children a wonderful amount of diversity,as well as cultural exsposure. I hope they find a publisher I think it would be great reading!
I have never seen such undisciplined ,unpleasant little pucks as those Van Kempen Children ,they have absolute no manners ,maybe instead writing a bock on Child-raising ,maybe they should take some parenting Classes or at least read a Book on it

Where does all of this hate come from? I happen to LOVE Alex and Simon. Ramona and Kelly make my blood churn, and Lu-Ann needs to get a Countess grip. Making people call her by a title she married into and is now divorcing? Bethenny needs therapy, ASAP, with Jill, to deal with family issues. I don't know of one perfect parent. Most of you are jealous over the Van Kempen's relationship.
Who wouldn't LOVE to have all of that adoring attention? I would take both of them shopping with me any day of the week, if I ever met them. Just continue on the way you are Alex and Simon. You are cute, and make a beautiful couple, and have precious children.

This couple is absolutely desperate to extend their fame and make as much money as they can from the show. They can't even hope to equal or come close to the earnings of the others on RHNY. Simon is such a slimy character and his clothes are repulsive. Their children are left alone so often while the parents are out making contacts and angling for a book contract. As for buying their book, it will never happen
