I have to ask, does anyone think she would have landed a recording contract with those pipes? Or what if she were a random chic that took a shot at American Idol. Do you think she'd make the cut? I listened from start to finish and I wasn't impressed (but I tried to be). **edited to add** I don't think it's bad per say, but I wouldn't fork out money for the tune.

I love Jeff Buckley and think she did a great job here. And I don't understand why she was panned by everyone with her album and now this (on other sites, not here). I love Tom Waits and I thought she did a great job on the covers - it's one of my favorite albums. You know who I picture her dueting with? Rob Pattinson. They both have that soulful, passionate "thing" going for them. I'd love to see them collaborate.

I don't hate it or her, but the difference between her and Robert Pattinson (as Capturing Life Suggested) Is that her passion seems to be coming from her raspiness/damaged chords. She actually doesn't have the pipes her does! But its interesting anyway...

I think she has promise with a good voice coach. There were parts of it that were good. She just was consistant with it. So I think with the proper training she could be really good, in a Nora Jones raspy way.
I think that Scarlett should just stick to acting and leaving the singing to the professional singers.
She has a distinctive voice that I actually like (a little Norah Jones, Amy Winehouse, retro sounding???) but she needs A LOT more training. This was like "Karaoke Nite" at the pub. Could be that she's just having fun & is not too serious about it all....she's rich! You can do albums for fun when you're rich! Although Paris should not be allowed any more albums for any reason!

I like her voice. I think she's got a good natural tone. I think a little vocal work wouldnt hurt, but I think she's good.

Some people just comment for sports, is rediculous! please wait untill you find something that is of you'r liking and then be positive about it, gosh.... scarlett sounds awsome! i totally agree that with a great coach she will refine her voice c'mon people if "Britney Spears can sign?".... i'll defenetely buy her record!

Agreed. Britney Spears is not by ANY means a talented musician. She's a performing artist with a mediocre voice. HOWEVER... ScarJo isn't much better, and quite frankly, I'd rather listen to Britney. She sounds strained, and needs more control over her voice. She's trying too hard, and SOUNDS like it. I wouldn't keep her album if someone bought it FOR me. What's RIDICULOUS is that people actually buy into this crap. ScarJo is trying too hard to sound like artists like A Fine Frenzy, who actually have originality, musical talent, and songwriting skills. They easily put her to shame, IMO. Phew! And of course not everyone is going to have something positive to say, but that's the beauty of having an opinion. :)

Jeff Buckley is my all time favorite, so I’m probably the wrong person to write a comment, but: NO! I liked her Tom Waits covers, but this is horrible. She turned one of the most emotional songs I’ve ever heard (just listen to the lyrics) into a “it’s piano hour at the nearby hotel” shame. His voice was so special, it would be hard for anyone to remake it. The fact that Scarlett had to try it just shows how little she knows about music.
Exactly what I thought!!!! Like a lounge singer in the local hotel bar. Her voice isn't terrible, but the piano accompaniment is AWFUL. I'm biased, because Jeff Buckley is one of the most talented artists of his generation and his version of this song is incredibly passionate and intense. Scarlett has managed to take a beautifully emotional piece and turn it into elevator musack.

I don't think she has a bad voice but she needs to do original songs cause there is no way that her version of Last Goodbye is anywhere near Jeff Buckley's. I am a huge fan of his and although I like her voice, I hated this version of the song ... there was no passion in it... very bland! If you've never heard the original, you should listen, its one of my all-time favourite songs!

Agreed. Any one who listen's the real version can hear all the passion in Jeff's voice. Its amazing.

She is really pretty, really intelligent and her voice not that bad.
But WHY O WHY DOES SHE HAVE TO BE THAT Boring!!!????? her acting is dull, her voice tone is dull, her dress sense is dull, her choice of music is dull, her choice of film is dull.
I have to say I loved ghost world butand the match point was not a bad at all performance.....Come on Scarlett!!!! your fans are waiting!!!! wake up!!!!
