Ellen DeGeneres And Portia De Rossi Are Trying For Babies

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are ready to start trying for a baby!  Sources say that Portia will be undergoing IVF to try and get pregnant.

"They would love a boy. But would truly be happy with any healthy baby."

And Portia is ready to do whatever it takes.

"(de Rossi) is
prepared to go through it (IVF) 10 times if she has to. Whatever it
takes to get pregnant, she'll do it. She's been changing her eating
habits. Her goal is to gain a few pounds before they start the IVF
process.

Ellen and Portia are mad about each other. And having a child together will only strengthen their bond."

I think it would be cool if Ellen and Portia are able to conceive in vitro since Ellen would surely bring it up on her show. That might make for good dialogue since talking about fertility treatments is still sort of taboo.

I don't see why they couldn't adopt instead. So many children, yet people seek to still selfishly use IVF. Its a sad, sad world we live in when children are just left to age out of the system, without anyone giving a damn, in favor of the selfish want, not need, to fulfill in passing on their own genetics. It makes me sick to my stomach, when so many kids could be given loving homes.

do you have children of your own or did you adopt? if not are you planning on adopting? if SO thats your choice!!!! who are you to demand from others to adopt and not to try to have children with the person they madly love. go away.

I did adopt. I had the options to do IVF, my insurance would have paid for it. It turned my stomach just thinking about doing it. I ended up getting two boys who were punished by being thrown into a bathtub full of scalding hot water, and their backs pressed up against radiators. The idea of these people opting to do IVF, when thousands of children are suffering and going to most likely end up in prison makes me sick.

Ugh do you know how hard it is to adopt? I know celebs make it look easy but it's NOT.

If having babies together strenghtens a bond between a couple so much, could you explain why there are so many divorces and why all studies show that marital satisfaction takes a sharp drop after the birth of the first child?

Other than that, I really like these two.

Hmm. I'm pretty sure Ellen would mention this on her show or her blog. I'm guessing BS.

What do they have against girl babies? :(

the person that commented on adoption is incredibly ignorant. Adoption is not easy for one and secondly, why is an infertile couple having a baby through IVF anymore selfish than a couple who just fall pregnant naturally?

If anything the couple undergoing IVF need some slack cut... they have gone through emotional and physical pain to have their baby... why should they be scolded and the lucky fertile couples can keep pumping out the babies.. because they can?

You are an idiot.

You're the idiot. There is a reason why people are infertile. Look at the world. If people keep pumping out babies like no tomorrow, this planet will be in war over necessities like clean water and food in 50 years, dumbass. I agree with the person who said adopt. I already have my 5 nieces and nephews, since my dumb whore of a SIL was an addict, a prostitute, and is prison for murder. I didn't have to take all of them in, my other SIL offered to take the girls, I thought it was better to keep them all together. I don't need to have my own kids, I love these just like they were my blood.

Another thing about adoption... Ellen's age would be a huge barrier in that respect, it would be hard to find an agency willing to let them adopt. Plus the average wait for an infant adoption in the US is 8 years...

If this is true, I wish them the best of luck! I know Portia has struggled with anorexia (who can forget those pictures of her looking absolutely skeletal in that black dress?)...I hope it hasn't affected her ability to conceive and/or carry a child. I love them together and I think they would be wonderful parents!

Would they even be able to adopt? Many states do not allow gay people to adopt, even in cases where one of the parents is the biological parent. In my state for example if Portia did have a baby, Ellen would not be able to adopt or have any legal rights whatsoever to that child. Does anyone know the California laws?

I am currently undergoing ivf treatment as my husband had leukemia, a bone marrow transpant and is now sterile.

I do not think there is anything selfish in wanting to pass on your genes and have a child with the one you love. Besides, adopting can be a process that can sometimes be costlier and lengthier than IVF.

I really wouldn't be so quick to judge.
