Rihanna Steps Out In Mexico

Well, the cover is a bit sensationalized, but here she is - Rihanna soaking in some sun in Mexico while wearing a white bikini. I don't know what to say about the situation.
What do we do? Do we not cover her anymore? Or do we just continue to treat her as we did prior to the Chris Brown event and support her and her music career by keeping her in the public eye?
Truthfully, I don't know how to handle Rihanna at this point...

Vera, you need to keep posting about RiRi; you can't stop reporting on her. She is going thru something, that I'm sure plenty of women have gone thru. I like RiRi, and I like her fashion choices. I don't think she is a great singer though; nevertheless, I still would like to see posts on her.

I don't know thats a tough one. Maybe contact her PR people and ask them what she wants. She looks so unhappy in that picture. My heart breaks for her.

great idea, they should ask her PR people but I am sure they will say its ok... even negative press is better than no press.
Well, that's a no-brainer. Of course, everyone should continue to support her and her music ---- business as usual. It's the only way she'll be able to move past this situation.
I think its important to continue to report on her IF she handles this is an exemplary fashion. A lot of girls look up to her and if they see her let him get away with it, they will think its okay. She better take him to the cleaners.
Support her, ban him. I've been hearing his songs on the radio and I think that's bullsh1t!
You should still report on her and him. We don't know the facts of the situation.
Vera, sometimes you are TOOO NEUTRAL. What do you mean you don't know what to say? The fact is that he beat her up, which is INEXCUSABLE. Not saying anything is exactly what is going to let Chris get away with this. Here in Cayman, FM stations have stopped playing his music and I applaud it. We need to send him a message that what he has done is not going to go away lightly.
And hopefully this will give other abused women the message that there is support for them, that they don't have to stay in an abusive relationship. And to the guys that are abusive, this will show them that what they are doing is wrong and that it has to stop.

It bothers me to no end that now there is a stigma attached to Rihanna, the victim in this case, just like there is with most women who are beaten. Yeah, alleged, but I worked in the domestic violence division of a DA's office when I was in law school and it sickened me how far police and the press would bend over to protect the batterers but anything the victims did/said/might possibly have done was fair game (even that was nothing compared to the hell that was the rape division, but still) and woe befall the victim if she acted in any way not deemed "perfect." Rihanna is the same person she was before she was battered. You covered her before, so, yes, you should cover her now.
I wish we could get to the point where the first questions we ask aren't: "What did she do to bring this on?" or "Why didn't she leave?" but "Why the hell do we ever let this happen even once?"

Vera, I really don't know. It's kind of weird how something can happen to someone and it completely changes your outlook on them. It reminds me of when I was in high school and one of my friends got into a bad accident and was in a wheelchair. Before she came back to school everybody was asking questions like, 'How do we act?' or 'Do we treat her the same way?' It was a weird situation for everybody. BTW, it has been three weeks. It does not take forever and a day for bruises to heal.
I say you should continue to cover her but don't go overboard like you do with Brangelinas and Katie Holmes.

This is a tough one. I am torn. On one hand I don't think we should forget what happened and that it should stay front page news so that Chris gets what's coming to him. Then on the other hand, Rihanna needs to start emotionally healing from this and move forward, and how can she when it is all anyone talks about. It's almost like she has to relive it every day. She is a talented young woman and this incident shouldn't define who she is.
You should keep covering her.
keep covering her career, but avoid the scandal and unauthorized photos.
i'm pretty sure she wouldn't be thrilled to see some of the sad or disfigured images of herself plastered all over the internet.

Exactly.
Cover her career and any events she goes to in the future, her fashion but keep these (mexico photos and such) off the blog. It's sad what she's going through but she should be able to handle them privately. Her career is public but this type of stuff should not be.
I truly dont understand how there can be ANY controversy as to whether to cover her or not. ABSOLUTELY cover her. As a woman of any age you want to see this woman on a beach not just surviving but stepping up and over it all. You want to see her smile, you want to hear her come out with an anthem for all young girls to make a stand for themselves. I want to hear that anthem from every station in place of Chris Browns music. I want her on Oprah and everywhere else sending a message loud and clear: YOU WILL NOT KEEP ME DOWN!
There is zero excuse for a man to touch a woman. You don't like that she took your keys? Get out of the car! You don't like her yelling at you? Walk out of the room. No violence should EVER be condoned. No... we don't have all the facts of this case, but one fact made everything brilliantly clear: THAT PICTURE! That picture should be plastered in every single school in the country with a reminder caption that NO ONE tolerates abuse!
I think we should all just leave the girl be for a little while. She's taking some time, probably trying to figure things out. Imagine all the paparazzi following her while she's in Mexico, clambering to get pictures like this one. She deserves a bit of peace. When she's ready to get back to the spotlight she'll come back and then the media can all cover her as they normally would.
Hopefully she will one day feel ready to talk about things because there are a lot of young girls who look up to her. But in the meantime she's not ready, and it's not fair for all of us to force her to be the poster girl for victims of abuse.
That's my .02 :)
I say cover her appropriately. Cover her positives, her career. But try and stay away from the case and her while she is hiding out and working through this. As a victem of abse before I can tell you that she is going through alot! Let her work through this in peace, update us on any criminal charges, and cover her when she comes back into the spotlight on her own, not before!
Why wouldn't you cover her & support her? That's what you're supposed to do. She was beat up. Of course you should support her.

I don't know? It is a very personal issue, support her yes!! Cover it, I don't know, I lean toward no, not until she takes the issue public.
to be honest, i dont know..either way i think she is doomed.. it seems to be people have already judged chris without hearing what he had to say.. if it turns out that he didnt hit her then imagine all the guilt that she has been carrying..i say dnt post anything that is not true because it does not help the situation.. if you are going to post anything let it be facts..imagine being judged on hearsay.. i also say her handlers are not doing anything to help the situation.. be it because they are trying to milk the situation, i dnt know.. they should have come out a long time ago and said something.. i understand chris cannot talk because the legal issues but what about her.. she hasnt even filed charges against him. to be honest, this whole situation is a mess and i just hope both of them come out ok...i also think sending her away with firends is not a good idea.. she should be with her family.. noone will take care of you more than her family.. instead of talking about chris and so on, where are they right now.. where is her mother!!!

I honestly don't know - I think she should be kept from the public eye for a while until she is ready to either comment or move on with her music. Like a commenter said, think of the paparazzi swarming around her, it makes me sick.
It's funny. Well, not the situation, but if he did so much damage to her that night, where are the bruises? Even if she hid most of her face, you can still see it and I don't see bruise number one on her. I've known battered women and when someone says that they were beaten and bit, then there is some evidence to that matter. I see none here.
maybe you should visit TMZ. idiot.
The reason we all have this questions is because she hasn't really came on foward and talked to her fans other than the statement the her PR put out the other day, she needs to come out to us and speak to her fans and to set an example to every one that is going thru this and get it over with and most important move on! this questions are asked because we really don't know what she wants from the public at this point no one has really talked about it (from her camp) that is. i love Rihanna really do.... but she needs to stop acting like a scary little cat running away and hidding and start acting like a woman and even though she's so young she should handle this the way she should by going on with her life and her carrer and moving on from this looser! i say continue your tours your business and your life no man is worth that much for any woman to stop her life and her business. all of this disappering and seclusion is not helping it anymore (is what i think)!!!
you know what people? she does not have to come out or say anything...it is her life and she is a grown woman to make decisions.
I don't thinkyou should cover her anymore unless she presses charges against Chris Brown. She looks sad because she wants to go back to him but is afraid it will hurt her career. She's a foolish, stupid girl.
I think you should boycott all Rihanna shit until she can be a woman and stand her ground. She is looking just as pathetic as he is now.
I'm really disappointed that se would go back with someone like that. It's true we DO NOT know the true and full story but still...
Come on, we all saw that picture.
God bless her, really...
i think if she is pregnant with his baby they should name him
christopher maurice brown jr
it`s only right 2 do so
that`s only if she is pregnant and it`s a boy
