The thing is - they KNOW it will sell. While we may think it's ridiculous (I'm in that boat with ya'll), they are a business and it would be foolish of them NOT to capitalize on every inch they can.
I WOULD TOTALLY BUY THIS. IIIIIIII CANNNNNN'T WAAAAAAIT. I'M ALSO TOTALLY WAITING FOR THE ACTION FIGURES AND THE COSTUMES FOR HALLOWEEN. .......... WTF, is this the new Dungeons and Dragons for girls. this is truly nerd patrol with this crap. how do you play again...... you make three jump with the action figure to where ever street (this is a perfect way to show how lonely your poor kid is); while THEY STOP TO HAVE SOME FREAKEN DISCUSSION ABOUT "NON-FICTIONAL" CHARACTERS. how old are these girls. what are we talking Hannah Montana types ( totally unaware of how weird this is, but truly o.k. because THIER JUST KIDS FOLKS); Or what the golden girls ( any thing to pass the time BORED). Ya... this is a cellar. right in the cellar with the rest of the JUNK.

This is nothing guys...the place I work at has Twilight perfume, Twilight magnets....jewelry, messenger bags....Edward action figures. I am not kidding.
Whats the big deal? There are ads on this site for a merchandise shop where you can buy Twilight shirts for your dog. Isn't it a bit hypocritical denounce the same thing you do, Vera?

The marketing is no different than for any other movie directed at younger audiences--like Harry Potter, or Dream Works animation, or Pixar movies. You have a run of everything from a video game, to key chains. They figure if you are a fan you will be willing to buy anything and everything bearing the name or a star's likeness.
I just got this game, and its FUN! I recommend it just as much as I recommend the book! YOU NEED TO BUY IT!

The TWILIGHT GAME, could be a top 5 board game of all time! If you have seen the movie you will LOVE IT. if you have read the books you will LOVE IT.
The game made me feel like i was living it. You have to buy this game, it is so much fun. Edward is so hot.
OMG! Someone needs to be punished for making a board game that will make the company a lot of money! When a movie is so successful, people don't stop with the film. They go the whole nine yards. Toys, t-shirts, videogames, board games, etc. This is not the first time something like this has happened as a result of the success of a movie, and it is definitely not the last. Maybe you are just noticing it for the first time because you seem to be obsessed with Twilight. I'm sorry I'm being so b!tchy.
