Ginnifer Goodwin Hosts The Wrap Party For Big Love

Ginnifer Goodwin Hosts The Wrap Party For Big Love

Ginnifer Goodwin who plays Margene on "Big Love" hosted the wrap party for the shows 3rd season last night at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. I watched the first season and then never picked up again for season 2. Is it worth a rent to catch up? Any big fans of the show? Would you recommend watching it?

Her hair and makeup are lovely but I'm not sure about the dress. Looks like someone had an accident or drank too much wine. Ew.losethatgirl blog

YES! Love the show Vera. It's one of my favs...and you & I share some favs, such as Lost, 24.

Oh, and I love Ginnifer and her character on the show. She's adorable.

Not a huge fan of the dress, but she looks adorable otherwise.
I'm addicted to the show and would definitely recommend the rest of the seasons! There's a lot going on though, so you'd have to pay close attention!

I am really curious to ask anyone that watches this, does it glamourize polygamy? Are the brides underage? I just read Under The Banner Of Heaven by Jon Krakaur for my book club, and it was singularly the most disturbing book I have ever read. No one at club had seen it.

Anonymous Anonymous said:

Oh no, definitely does not glamorize. None of the women are underage. Bill is in his late 40s or early 50s as is his first wife (Barb), Nikki's probably in her early 30s, and Margie in her early 20s. Those are just guesses, though.
There is a storyline on underage girls being married into polygamy, but the story is about helping her escape it.
It makes the main characters like "normal" people, like your neighbors.
They not only deal with the same issues we do but those of polygamy and the compound as well.

No it doesn't glamourize it, it just basically follows the life of a polgamist family. Like any show yes there bad people who do bad things. The show is great its one of my favorites and Nickey is the best!!

YES! It's worth catching up, it's such a great show!

I'm in Canada so have to wait for each new season to come out on DVD and then have a marathon. :)

I don't really think it glamorizes polygamy. I just love all of the characters and the family interaction.

When we watch it my husband always asks, "Why would ANYONE want more than one wife??" ;)

I would absolutely recommend this show Vera! The first season is kind of slow, I would say I "liked" the show by the end of season one.
Season two started up and I was anxious to see where they would take the characters. And they didn't disappoint! At the end of season two it became one of my favorite shows!
It's now the end of season three and I'm desperate for season four to come on! This season was intense and much darker than the previous seasons. I won't spoil it for you, just watch!
Anyone who watches the show knows it's a lot more than just a show about polygamy. It's about families - of ALL kinds - and struggling with our innermost convictions, no matter what choices you make in life.
As far as it glamorizing polygamy, I'd say if anything it sheds light on a taboo topic in our country and allows the people watching to see for themselves what it's really about. You not only get a view into the suburbanite polygamous family (who could very well be your neighbors!), but you get a view onto a polygamous compound where FLDS are making their own rules and the lifestyle is as unglamorous as it gets!
Very intriguing show - I'm a huge fan of Tom Hanks (who produces the show), he always does great work! - Mandi
