Horror Movie Director Chosen For Third Twilight Film

Exciting news, Twilight fans! Director David Slade, known for his dark style after doing movies like 'Hard Candy' and '30 Days of Night' (another vampire film) has been chosen to do the third Twilight film, 'Eclipse.'
Writer, Stephenie Meyer, is positive David is the right guy for the job!
"I am thrilled that David Slade will be directing Eclipse. He’s a visionary filmmaker who has so much to offer this franchise.
From the beginning, we’ve been blessed with wonderful directorial talent for the Twilight Saga, and I’m so happy that Eclipse will be carrying on with that tradition."
Now we're just waiting to hear whether or not Breaking Dawn gets the green light. Although, I read an article voicing concerns about how they are going to do Breaking Dawn and stay true to the book if the movie isn't rated R. After all, there's the sex scene to deal with and Renesmee's gory birth. Plus, what kind of special effects is it going to take to create a child like Renesmee!?!
Anyways, Twilight fans, what do you think about the choice of David? And who should take on the job of doing the 4th movie, if it happens? They better get started on all these films fast...Rob Pattinson can't age!

They shouldn't think twice about the R rating. It would make it much better, it's not realistic to only focus on tweens. Taking it to the next level could help it be taken more seriously, as opposed to bad acting and the hype of 12 year olds.

I loved both 'Hard Candy' and '30 Days of Night' , so I think its exciting news.
Oh my gosh, finally someone else agrees with me. I thought the acting was pretty bad in Twillight...Ok mostly by Kristen Stewart but still it was bad.
They are really rushing production of these movies. I don't think it matters who the director will be, the fact that Summit is putting these movies on the fast track to the theater means they won't be spending enough time developing the CGI and special effects. Poor CGI and effects is worse than bad acting, not by much but it is worse.
BTW - Team Jasper here too.
I am ECSTATIC with the choice of David Slade. "Hard Candy" is one of the creepiest and most brilliant thrillers I've ever seen!
In order to stay true to the book, they will have to change the rating to an R. And, with the addition of David Slade, they are definitely getting some edgier directors which should make things very interesting. Of course I'm sure the studio may be worried about this considering the bulk of the fans are under the age of 17 and an R rating may keep these young fans from the movie. But, I still think the movie will make a ton of money. Everyone wants to see all 4 of these books made into movies. And don't forget DVD sales down the road.
They should definitely keep Rob for all 4 of them. You need the continuity and fans would be VERY disappointed if he wasn't in there. The absence of him will make the movie lose $$ for sure!
Hopefully Stephanie Meyer will not want to keep everything so chaste and agree to making the movie the way it ought to be made. Who knows exactly how much authority she has in how these movies are being made. She's definitely being consulted but hopefully the studio has the final say so.
Great choice, "30 days of night" was pretty cool. As for the 4th movie i think Len Wiseman would me perfect
I'm all for the R rating! The natural evolution of the series calls for more mature themes as the books play on. Twilight is a high-school thing and beyond that book - it must play on the way its intended.
alright so i enjoyed the movie and yeah all the characters are very good looking but ENOUGH ALREADY i'm so over it, it's getting old!!!!!

hell hard candy was so stupid. but 30 days of night was great, even though the comic is better.
OMG, i can't wait for the movies to come out! i love the twilight saga so much!!
i think in america rrated is like for 17 yr olds and above isnt it?
well i live in the UK and i've checked a couple of R rated movies and they were R in america and just 15 in the UK
e.g sex in the city
so i don't really think compared to other films that we have rated 18 in the UK that it could really go over a 15
so i'll be fine if it doesn't
