Helena Bonham Carter's Style

Helena Bonham Carter is currently in London filming 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.' We've seen the pictures of her on set, so we know this (she plays Bellatrix Lestrange).
Now according to the caption accompanying these photos, Helena was simply out and about in Hampstead "as usual [she] was wearing a quirky outfit which included a pearl necklace with a whistle and pocket watch attached."
Although I have seen Helena in some "quirky" outfits, I thought she was in costume (especially when I saw the close-ups of the shoes, which are in the thumbnails).
What do you think: are these Helena's own clothes or do you think she's wearing part of her wardrobe from the movie?

Both. I believe Helena mostly takes parts in which she can bring her personal wardrobe in to be used for her character. :)
the shoes are zcoils, she must have hip problems. wierd clothes tho.
Definitely Z-Coils, but she doesn't need to have hip problems to be wearing them. My fiance has a pair and he has fallen arches and a bad back. I heard them being used for sciatica, as well. I knwo that sometimes it can become a chronic condition after pregnancy.

Probably her clothes. She's always been funky that way. And those shoes are fairly brilliant, whatever they're made for. I'd wear 'em, tho my family would probably disown me in the process.
I've definitely seen other pictures of her out and about, not on set, in those shoes. I think this is just the way she dresses, and I love it.
I think they are her own clothes, and thankgod not everyone dresses the same, keeps life interesting!

Z coils changed my mother's life. She had to stop working because of lower back pain and bad feet. Now you can't find her at home at all. She is up and about in those shoes. A large percentage of hospital employees wear them.
She's so flippin bizarre and yet it works for her...

I live right near Hampstead, I've seen her on the high street a couple of times. Both times she was dressed similarly.

At least she looks like she washed her hair in these shots ! I dont care the way she dresses but I hate that she usually looks dirty.
Probably a costume and she didn't have to time to change before attending to her errands. Nothing wrong with that.

For one she wears those shoes ALL the time. It is NOT a costume at all. That's just her. She's quirky thats why I love her as an actress. It totally works for her.
They are her own clothes, and she looks brilliant! Those Z-Coils are for her back problems (as she has mentioned in several interviews). Why should she conform to the "normal" look? She is who she is, and think she is an amazing woman, with a GREAT sense of style.

the shoes are a type that help your back the pocket watch no idea but has a car charger atached 2 it (love it) the belt i want :) along with the jacket!! over all 5* :)
I have been a big fan of Helena Bonham Carter since I've seen Fight Club, and have always loved her style. It's unique, fun, casual, and dressy. To me it says, "Even though I'm a big actress I don't need to look like one." It makes a statement and seems "real". She has the type of body that can look good in a fancy dress or bits of costumes stormed together, makes me a bit jealous of her (lol).
She looks fantastic, always! It's like she plays dress-up every day and she is quite lovely. the shoes are brilliant....love her :)

ugh, I don't like her style, it's so...unstylish!!! I don't understand how u like it, and those shoes, I wouldn't wear them EVER well unless I had a problem that rlly needed those shoes. Otherwise, horrible.

"Style" is how an individual wears their clothes. HBC's STYLE is very much "stylish". It's not FADDISH. It's not TRENDY.
It's HER Style.
And as for the shoes? Wear what you want and what works for you.
If you want to slavishly follow trends, go ahead.
Me? I wear what I like. I don't care what's considered "in style" by people whose sole job is to sell me something. What's "in style" will be OUT of "style" in the next 5 minutes.
I wear what's comfortable because you have to be a flat-out fool to wear something that's not.
Those shoes? 1) I love them. They're comfortable and my feet/knees/hips/back don't hurt when I wear them; 2) They don't look like what's "in style", so they'll never be "out of style".
HBC rocks her style and doesn't give a tinker's what anyone else thinks!
