After Kristen Stewart's appearance at the MTV Movie Awards, where she dropped her Best Female Performance Award and called herself "awkward," her 'Twilight' and 'New Moon' co-star Peter Facinelli is coming to her defense.
That's just Kristen. I think she has that shaky knee syndrome and that's part of her charm.'
As for Stewart's sudden rise to fame, 'I think being mind-blown about
it isn't the same as being uncomfortable with it. I think she's got a
real charm and grace about her, and I think she really is settling into
it. We had a great time filming New Moon and we're all really excited for the next one - Kristen included.' "
That probably explains some of her more lackluster interviews, too. I can see where it would be tough for someone who wants to act but is uncomfortable with the "fame" aspect of the entertainment industry, although it does come with the territory!
I thought Kristen was rather endearing at the MTV Movie Awards: what did you think?

why do all these actors complain about how they dont want fame or can't handle it or did not expect it - blah, blah
I think people don't know what to think of her because they place her relation to other young actresses around her age. I think Kristen is probably introverted, and smart, which in relation to all the other vapid idiots of her age and level of fame, seems odd. I mean, let's think of her at that award show and say, Miley Cyrus at that award show and then let's try and figure out who you would rather spend any prolonged period of time...
I liked her before twilight an she is a great actress in the movies she really helps bring you into the moment an her an Robert are such great actors together they compliment each other so well! But as far as her out side of acting i think she is really weird! She constantly acts like shes on crack or some sort of drug. And i really like Robert Pattinson an i know he has a huge crush on her but i would hate for her to take him down with her he is the Biggest actor of our time an all the girls love him! But i really do think Kristen needs to be checked into some sort of rehab. She is just so odd! An as far an being uncomfortable with the fame i can understand it cause a lot of people don't expect it so suddenly like the twilight stars but that is part of the deal if you don't like it you might as well not act! Just after really seeing her in interviews an at award shows i do not care for her as much anymore.

I'm sure she IS on "something"...as much as I love her because of Twilight, when she is out in public you can see her being photographed rolling up "something" to smoke. She does seem to be having a withdrawal, but I hope that it is only her nerves and that she is actually shy. I completely agree that if she is on something that she would be taking Rob down. He does not need to get invovled in anything that would compromise his bright future!! And that includes Kristen....

Endearing? Nah. Stoned off her ass? Definitely. You could tell she was a bit out of it and she had the squinty eye syndrome going on. I think she CAN be adorable, but I don't appreciate her smoking so much when it affects her on screen performance. She just wasn't that charming and very dull in the first Twilight. I hope her second performance is much better because I do think she has potential.

What is annoying is that she is exactly the same in every movie she makes. She is not very versatile
I think her awkwardness is part of her appeal..
I don't think people (meaning the general public) have the right to judge her complaining about being famous, as they haven't experienced the 'limelight'...
Kristen is akward all around. She has her own style and stuff but I think she needs to get more comfortable in her own skin because she seems super self-conscious. She also looks disgusted with everything, other than when she won the award she looked disgusted.
I think shes cool :) Love her in Twilight! Happy for her!

First of all the MTV awards show was awesome, Andy did an amazing job.
I was thrilled everytime Twilight took and honor!! They all deserve it!
When Kristen dropped her award, I just about died...I mean, could she BE any more like Bella...??!! That was hilarious and embarrassing and ...honestly, perfect!
I don't want to rush this glorious summer, but I CAN'T WAIT to see New Moon in November!!! I will be there for the midnight (twilight) showing!!
i think she wants to be seen as the awkward girl, the misfit, etc... i think she's trying a little to hard for that image, though. it almost seems like forced awkwardness, like it's an act. i don't buy it.
We already have an "awkward, shy" young actress and that's Ellen Page. She can have a whole another persona.
It was reported the reason she wore converse was because she hurt her ankle...probably from shooting in Italy. She also returned from Italy the day before...hello--jet-lagged!

She has insecurities and self-esteem issues, clearly, so people need to lighten up, whatever they think about her or her acting. She's "legal" but she's still just a kid with a lot of growing up to do.

I don't think her clothes or her lifestyle are out of line considering her age.

Having actually met Kristen while she was filming a scene in New West in Vancouver.. I can say that she is sooo different from how the media makes her out to be.
I have never met someone more genuine, kind and humble. She is a really talented actor, and just very down to earth.
Annon @ 2;02pm is right, she had hurt her ankle while filming in Italy, hence the shoes.. but she's worn converse shoes and a nice dress in a Vanity Fair photoshoot.. it's just her.
She is sweet to her fans, appreciative, and again.. so damn humble.
Kristen is not flashing her bits, getting into public fights, or getting drunk off her ass every night infront of paps.. can't we be happy?

The girl is 19 - I think she is doing pretty well for all the things she has to deal with at such a young age. I don't think I would have handled myself half as well at that age.
I thought she was fun at the MTV awards, she was obviously embarrassed when she dropped the award but I thought she covered it up well - " Well it was as awkward as you all thought!"
