Potty Training Isn't Going As Planned

Potty Training Isn't Going As Planned

I don't know WHY I thought to start potty training so early. The boy isn't even 2 yet!!

This was the result.

We are letting it go for a few more months.
LOL!!

Boys seem to take much longer than girls (in my experience and others that I know). And definitely wait for him to give you the cue that he might be ready.

awww poor boy! that is so cute. it took me forever to potty train... well at least for going #2 ahaha... my mom would cut a hole in the bottom of my diaper and tried to trick me into it like that. I can recall so distinctly! i hated it though!! But then when I finally did it, I got a big cake that said "Happy Pooping Monica" ahahah... sorry... had to share!!

My mom gave me candy corn everytime I went, and now my sister bought me an italian charm with a candy corn on it, and gives me candy corn whenever she thinks of it! She's 29, and I'm 24, so it's been going on for awhile now! lol

Aww, poor Liam. My boys weren't ready to be trained until almost 3, so don't worry too much.

Aw that picture is heartbreaking. Few months can't hurt. You don't want him to grow up too fast anyway :)

I only have a daughter that turned 2 in March. We were starting to train her but then I broke my ankle which is a stay at home mom's worst nightmare, btw. I hope to have her trained by the time she is 2.5 which is September 27.

hmmm... we were all trained by the time we were 1 or 1.5 years-old.
I remember my youngest sister on the toilet, 1 year old, with the rest of the family there, singing and clapping just so she would pee, it took 2 hours and a lot of fuss!

In some cultures little ones are trained VERY early, i.e. from birth. You never see an african baby making a mess down its mother, do you?! And it works.

I'm sure there're small psychological differences in each family though, that make it different for all.

Poor little guy - he looks so sad in that picture! When I worked at a childcare center, I was still changing diapers on some 3 yr old boys.
