I'm not a surfer... but I can honestly say with conviction that even if I was I wouldn't wear this shoe.

They have shoes just like this for running too. A friend of mine has a son who runs track and he came over with some shoes like this and I thought what in the world are those? They're ugly but he says they feel awesome.

I agree with the sports sentiment - but if they really are to improve your sports preformance than wearing them on the street is like wearing your baseball cleats or your golf spikes off the field/course!

If it was cheaper I would buy it to wear around the house. You know to those chores that require you to run in & out of the house all day. I would have grip as oppose to flip flops.

I've heard they are AMAZING for some sports - esp. running. But if you choose your running gear based just on what's not ugly, um.... perhaps it is time to reconsider why you're running.

these shoes are so weird.. and interesting! i just don't think i've got what it takes to wear those, i'd feel too silly wearing them- even if i was a runner.

I've seen people wearing these...and it ain't pretty.
My first thought was that I wouldn't wear them, but noticed somebody mentioned they make a running version. If they really did improve my performance, yeah, I'd go for it.

I have 3 pairs and I LOVE them! I bought my first pair for running, but liked them so much I decided to make them my primary shoe. My husband and a few friends now have them too.
